15 I bet, I was going to cut off the fairway and just let the approach happen from a greater distance, then thought what the hell, give some crazy bas-tard the opportunity to hit further up the fairway if they chose. Following ghosts, its extremely interesting watching the ghosts. I blocked the 14th fairway shortcut completely, yet it amazed me how many still tried it. I guess some people just don't know how to play for par and just go for everything all the time. Product of the tin cup era I suspect. Chaoz, i enjoyed the 5 rounds, I designed the thing so have played them all many times, yet still enjoyed the 1500 yard differences. TY for doing this. When I said hole I meant holes, over the five rounds the different tees made the whole thing a very different beast each time. I wasn't a massive fan to start with but as I played it I realised how cleverly done it was. I particularly enjoyed the Saturday set up. The tee shot I meant was the par 4 with a split fairway and a whacking great tree blocking a drive on to either side. Not a fan but it's all down to personal taste. I'm planning on getting in to a bit of designing and the way you set your courses up to give all these options is something I am very much taking on board. I have no spit fairway, the tree blocks the 14th hole being played from the 15th tee, and to get further down the 15th on some setups requires the hero shot turning the ball to a tight landing area, otherwise go for the iron to the straight safe play.

I disagree with that boomboom , if we are thinking of the same hole. It is not a product of having to go for everything all the time. It was more, with the wind speed and direction, putting the tee shot in an area that let you have a second shot. There is like 10 yards of fairway on the right and it sloped to heavy rough. With 15 mph winds, it is a very difficult shot, especially if the wind is taking it right as well. I missed my landing area and trickled into the heavy rough, played for par, and moved on. The problem is that you can't always tell if a tree is going to get in the way. I tend to not risk a shot if there is a chance of smacking into the trees. So to me it isn't a tin cup attitude, it is more just not having a clear understanding how to play a hole correctly and trying what, at the moment, feels like the safer play. See above. The shot you are referring to is a sucker shot i designed into it, if you follow my ghost you will see 3 days i played iron to the fat straight part of the fairway, 1 day i turned 5 wood and 1 day i turned a 3 wood. Its a make a par hole and move on, trying for birdie brings in the big number. 13, 14 and 15 is Coastal Taipan amen corner. It's pretty easy to mess with people in the designer, so many people will pull that driver even to a band aid almost impossible to hit fairway, even if it means doing some massive almost uncontrollable draw with a not favoring wind and completely ignore the 4 iron to the straight away flat, big and wide no trouble part of the fairway.

Fair enough, I can live with that. Funny, I hadn't realised the fairway to the left wasn't the same hole! I played for that one three times out of five, and hit it twice.

A 187 on a round 5?! Is this some sort of major?
Blows my mind how a lofted 5 iron will roll 20+ yards (no downhill) but you can't get a lofted LW to spin back a foot.
That isn't golf to me. I really hope they fix that in TGC2.

Thank you for the reply. Just wanted to know. I don't quit things mid-way through so I wanted to make sure I could take this off the radar.

It's pinned in the Community bit. It's Reviewer Recommended Courses (not sure about the other C..) where we play 3 courses a week on a four week cycle, all platforms, no need to register just play. You get 18 days to play each week so you can get behind and catch up. Very relaxed and a good way to play some of the courses you might otherwise miss out on. Come and join us! It's also now been going for 41 weeks...
