I put together a tour for my own amusement. I initially wanted to just play 4 rounds/4 pins at some of my favorite real courses in the game, but once I got done adding courses to my list, I had 35 already. I then counted up the number of tournaments on the PGA Tour last year starting from the Hyundai TOC to the Tour Championship, and it was 37 (I think, give or take). So I decided to put together a full season schedule, and see how I stack up against the pros under the hardest conditions, True Sim style.
I will be publishing the Tours in 4 parts, since they will be big, with the number of events being 9-9-9-8.
Real Course True Sim Season part 1 - published
I don't imagine this will appeal to a ton of folks, but I decided I would share it. I'll be maintaining a Google spreadsheet of each tournament and the real life leaderboard from either the 2016 or 2015 tournament. I also tried to pair real courses with real events, so I threw in several Euro events, as well. Not all tournaments match exactly or even in spirit (think the Belfry in Hawaii), but I tried to match the best I could. Also, three courses did not have multi-pins, so I made them one round events. Those events will not be included in the spreadsheet.
If you do play and would like to follow along, go ahead and enter your scores in the spreadsheet: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18AuQ9baAfmUEKygsKhuHJHSQTtOWGhYY1quTNHfjEWs/edit?usp=sharing
This is entirely up to you how you want to play, if you want to play, so I won't be monitoring for rules violations or keeping track of winners or losers. My suggestion is to play however you feel will produce the most realistic scores, so you can measure yourself against the real leaderboard. My only rule is this, you know how to use a spreadsheet, I know you do, so don't mess the spreadsheet up so I have to fix it.
If anyone plays, definitely feel free to post your rounds and results here. Also, if you are not a True Sim fan, I encourage you to go ahead and publish your own tour with the settings you want. Just let me know and I'll give you the exact course versions I used for each event. I won't create it for you, though, because it takes too damn long!
