So... yeah... I was going to hold off on VR until I watched the sony conference.
FIFTY titles? Resident Evil in VR? Batman VR? Battlefront Xwing in VR? $399 price point? Combines with Move controllers?
well crap. Time to start selling blood plasma twice a week...

$550 for just the headset in Canada. $700 if you want the bundle with the headset, Move controllers, camera, and a game. Sony's had a rather poor history of long term support on peripheral type devices like this so I still have little to no interest in this thing.

I'm still holding off, that sucker is pricey. I don't want to get it just to say i have it. I need to see a few games I'll play regularly before I shell out that kind of cash. I controlled myself back when the 3D hype was going on and that turned into a fad. Not sure if VR is going to stick or not yet.

I never had a lick of interest in 3d. Bleh. Now...if they get 3d IN Vr maybe that would be interesting. Having tried out VR a couple of times though there are some games that I really would love to try out on it.
If it were just the rift or the vive I'd hold off. This Sony one looks like something that's worth at least trying for $399 to me. We'll see if things change as they get closer to release... but the idea of playing an actual AAA horror game in VR? Yeah... I'll have to get some special pants for that one.

I am a Sony beta tester and have been lucky enough to trial the VR twice.
Obviously I can't go into many details and the games I have played have been very early alpha versions but the thing is incredible
I hated 3D Tvs and am for one glad they are gone. Will this flop like they did and the Ps Vita? I don't know what I do know is this is something I will play INSTEAD of my PS4. Not like the Vita where I would play only if I couldn't access my PS4. This VR Is more than capable of effectively being PS5 it mostly depends on how supported it is by developers which early signs are good!
I have monocular vision on a choice basis meaning I only look out of 1 eye at a time and can switch at will between the 2 (I think this is part of reason Sony chose me to beta test it) and so as such I don't get the full immersion that someone else would however there is more than enough there for me to want it if I would have to buy one and I am jealous of anyone who will be able to use it to its full ability.
Fwiw I'm not saying this because I'm a beta tester, this is my genuine belief on the product and whilst I fully appreciate it won't be for everyone I can't see many dedicated gamers turning this down in the long run.
I think this product has legs

See I haven't seen this one but I've played Occulus a few times and I'm sold on VR as an experience.
If Sony lets me sit and watch movies on the headset too? SOLD and a HALF... Now...to see if I get TV on there too... dang it...
Anyone else think the Microsoft doohickey is freaking sweet too? Probably too early to get super excited but it's like they took the idea of google glass and said "That's dumb...what about this instead?". The augmented reality HoloLens is a really really nifty idea.

I just can't imagine long gaming sessions with the headset on. It will be a pass for me.

I feel you Keith. However...my gaming sessions are generally limited to shorter terms unless it's an RPG late at night or a course design session.
I don't plan on playing any RPG's in VR for a while. not sure I would care for that particular dynamic.
if it turns out to totally suck you may all freely make fun of me. I mean...you already can I guess but I'll be totally on board with it...

Having bought an XB1 instead of PS4 (admitted mistake now), I'd have to buy both a PS4 and the VR. Will have to find some way of playing it a few times before I commit to such a tall order and gaming shift
