Q1 2017 although I don't think there was any mention of platforms and whether certain platforms will be released later. I hope not, and it'd be nice to have a Mac version this time too. I'm really pleased with what I read and saw there though. A mac version is a must, surely. Yeah, there seems to be enough new content to justify a new game.. As long as HB Studios don't go down the EA route, of changes for the sake of changes just to raise revenue, they'll be ok.

It looks like all the updates are things players and designers have been asking for. TGC2 looks like a more robust version of the same game.
There still are no power-up items that make your golfer better than anyone else's. They removed some of the exact-science elements in favor of fuzzy math, and added some cool new features.
The Society idea looks fantastic - it's actually similar to an idea I had for a home-brew game I am designing (not golf) that will probably never come to fruition (and I'm sure plenty of other folks have had their own similar idea). That's probably something I'll invest time into.
I like the character customization stuff. Looks really well done.
And I like the fact that we get unpublished versions of our published courses to edit and re-publish from TGC1.

As long as HB Studios don't go down the EA route, of changes for the sake of changes just to raise revenue, they'll be ok. I asked the question on the HB forum and Paul, one of the devs, explained that a Mac version is not viable at the moment because Apple have not updated OpenGL (graphics API) since 2010. It's a shame. As for the release, I like that they have kept the core game intact and are just improving the game based on feedback. I have no problem with them monetizing either - I've only had the game since February and it's already paid for itself 100 times over. TGC Tours is an essential ingredient to its success though.
