France can't win it - that defence is just waiting to make howlers plus their midfield give the ball away much too much.World class forwards will really make them pay.

Thought it was a great opening game. Full of excitement, could have gone either way with Romania making a great match of it. Sure France don't look the finished article and I wonder what Pogba will make of that substitution, but they look like topping that group pretty easily now and will have another 2/3 easy games to settle into it. I Still make them favourites. And wow, some players just have it don't they, Payet does that all season for West Ham and then when it matters on the big stage for his country, boom, he delivers. I just hope 1 or 2 England players (Kane, Vardy I'm looking at you) step up and deliver like they have for their clubs  Going to be a great tournament |

England have great potential with real pace - please god he plays Stones in defence,we need a real footballing central defender. Smalling can barely pass a ball and he is a mistake waiting to happen!

Yes,Payet was the best player on the pitch. England have great potential with real pace - please god he plays Stones in defence,we need a real footballing central defender. Smalling can barely pass a ball and he is a mistake waiting to happen! Take it you've not seen Smalling play much last season!?2nd best player at ManU last season.. He's come on as a defender, a hell of a lot!! Re Stones the guy has potential, easy to see that.. But he was a part of a team last season that shipped more goals than Faroe Islands usually do.. |

I've seen enough of Smalling to know he can't be relied on - he certainly loves wrestling forwards down in the box.
Stones needs a reliable defender next to him,nothing more,plus a bit of experience. He's a footballer,not just a stopper.21 years old? He's going to be a bit special.

His positional play is awful and he takes risks in his own box which wont be tolerated by 99% of managers. Has good footballing abilities IMO and could be as good as a rio ferdinand but is nowhere near it at the minute. Id go Smalling & Cahill and i reckon Hodgson will too. |

Oh god I hope not - those poor midfielders will have some awful passes to pick up.
Stones should play - think of the World Cup in two years,never mind the Euro's.
Bobby Moore took 'risks' too - admittedly his positional play was superb too but he had to learn that.

Does ANYONE understand why Milner is in the squad?
In my opinion he has nothing to offer - Townsend did well last game in only a few mins yet Milner gets on the plane.

Im an LFC fan and i dont like him. Yes he works hard and somehow racked up 15/16 assists but in general play he has nothing to offer IMO. I wudn be townsends biggest fan either tho. |

I may have to alter my predictions now ever so slightly..
