How ever it is done, that is how Anthony explained it to me. There must be a component that is saved that will allow the shots to be recreated because you can come back 1 1/2 later and play against someone. My point was the reason people are getting discrepancies was that the whole shot was not being saved which is a memory hog. They save only part of the shot and just enough of it to have it recreated real time every time it is accessed. The recreations may vary. And that is correct, the whole shot is not saved.

To add a point, in order for them to 100% accurately replay the exact shot, they would have to not only save the entire shot, but would have to save the aspects of the shot, including the graphics of the hole and such. The reason is even if the saved all the data from pre-tee off to the ball ending AND saved / froze the wind and other variables, there is STILL enough variants in the game that could cause the shot not to be 100% the same. Basically they would have to take a video of the shot and save it as we do on Youtube. This is, of course how the game is currently coded. That isn't to say they couldn't find another way, but that would require some massive recoding.

Yeah, and if they could "save" the entire shot the game would be entierly deterministic which could be exploited. Think AK has talked about that where other games play "pre-recorded" ball-flights everything in TGC is calculated on the fly.

The game already has several exploits that I hope are fixed in any new installment, besides with modern technology and being able to record on the fly and going back in time to capture the last 1-10 minutes of a round, there really isn't the need for it. I do wish tho, they would figure out a way to 'save a shot' which would be 100% accurate. They could create a limit to the amount each player could save and have them auto erase after a period of time. At least this way we could better get a nice recording of them when one of us makes an albatross in a major event that aided him to his first victory but has never been able to see the actual ball go into the hole again.

The consoles already provide that functionality, and you have software that does that on PC.
