They have answered that already - the option to force grid and wind off was a mistake and really that crazy way of playing was not intended.

I may have missed mention of it on here, but I've just been looking on the HB forums, and it seems like we're gonna get some interesting swing difficulty changes coming to TGC soon! Looks like there will be some sort of announcement around June 14th. Interesting times! Could start to mix things up a bit! Sounds great. Maybe they will bring back ball squirt as no one will admit it, but the elimination of it is the reason scores are so crazy low now. If its a tempo thing I will not like it at all. A tempo change will ruin me even more than I'm already ruined... I rely on a long pause at the top to make sure my finger won't slip (I play on a keyboard with a touch pad).

Well I just got a new mouse, the ROG Spatha. I prefer heavier mice so we'll see if it improves anything. I already like that it is wireless and fits my hand more comfortably than the Razer Mamba. I hope it will some how help my putting.

I avoid it these days due to the negativity but I'd like to get my point across on this. If they are bothered about records for courses then all they need to do is add filters for aids/difficult or just show symbols like you see in driving games.

If they bring a reward in for hitting a perfectly straight shot i kno plenty of people who would pull out.

My alternative idea would be to give two options for swing difficulty, one harder than the other but with the same outcome. In other words a perfect swing in hard mode would give the same result in easy mode. Then you force the harder difficulty when creating the tour/tournament. TGCT could even have a tier using the easier difficulty for new players. That could work but I agree with HB's outlook. The game of golf is the same for everybody as soon as you have various difficult levels giving you the same outcome then it just becomes watered down. Rory McIlroy swings at 120mph whilst I swing at 90mph, hence he hits i further than I do (I'm generalising). He uses what could be defined as the hardest swing in this game. I use what could be defined as the easiest swing in this game. I could try and swing at 120mph but then I'd be mis-hitting the ball like crazy so I stick to what I'm most consistent with, the easiest swing. Because I use the easiest swing I tend to play on 6000 yard municipal courses. Rory to challenge himself plays on 7000+ yard courses. The courses length and conditions (faster greens, firmer conditions, tighter landing zones, more penal rough) should set the overall difficulty. There needs to be a way of working the difficulty in and creating a difficulty curve. Like in shooting games the first level you'll have a standard pistol but then near the end of the game you'll have some mega-super-gun in order to beat stronger bad guys. Use that same pistol from level one and you'll have a hard time completing the last level. Same thing here. Level 1 would be your 6000 yard municipal courses. Use that same easiest swing where your driver goes 230 yards and then you'll struggle on the last level (7000+ yard pro courses). This way beginners of the game can play on municipal courses or pro courses from more forward tee placements until they get good enough to play on the harder swings.

I know what you mean and I do like your idea but when it comes to TGCT I think all it would mean is a greater gap between the elite and everyone else. The top players will be able to play as Rory but they will master it like other players can't. The lower players will either have to struggle as Rory where they won't be accurate enough to compete or they will have to play at a lower level. Playing at a lower level will be a disadvantage when playing on the same course.
