Because it gave Mr Duncan an excuse to use the word "bug" My point was, like Dan, other players like Brionne have left for similar reasons and they weren't given crap for doing it. Was it because people didn't know he left or was it because he was more respected as a former #1? Nope never heard brionne say it everyweek, dan will be back not first time he said he was quitting

It's like a "hey, look at me!" kind of move and I can see where people would be irritated by it. They would be thinking "then just freaking go. No need to make a thread about it."

Hey Guys! Thanks for putting up with the whiny old me. I know i can be a complete ass sometimes (well all the time) but i have decided that i will be taking a break from this game and tours for the foreseeable future. Some people will probably welcome that and i don't blame you to be honest. The problem is with me is that i expect too many good things from myself. I expect a win every week and i know that is not realistic at all but i am a perfectionist and if i am not perfect at something or the best then i am not happy. This has continued to grind my gears ever since i started playing on tour. I just don't see myself getting any better either. I miss shorter putts regularly which is my biggest annoyance on this game currently and well there is other things but i wont ramble on about those. Well actually i may play TGC occasionally to maybe play a few rounds but nothing more. Thanks, Dan. Maybe a break will help you? You might come back with a fresh attitude and start enjoying the game again? I get frustrated with this game, just look at my post in the Players thread that I put up a couple of minutes ago. That frustration lasts for a while, I vent in a post then it's gone, no point dwelling on it. Then it's go out the next week and try and get a W Wanting to win is fine, but believing that you should win every week is probably where you are going wrong. There are way too many great players to think that you should win all the time. I never think that I'm going to win. I obviously want to, but I just try my best and see if it's good enough when all the scores are totted up. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

He posted some things but wasn't as vocal as I am for sure. In the end he couldn't deal with the frustration. He may be back, but I'm not betting on it unless things get better. He hasn't played a competitive round in a couple months. I too think Dan will be back. Sometimes a break is good. I don't mind the 'taking a break' threads. He is and has been a part of the community and wants to let people know where he is and what he is doing.

Have to agree with Brad here. You can't set out expecting to win, you are just setting yourself up for disappointment.
I have played 4 great rounds assumed it was going to be close to a win, and nope not to be, my 1 win came in a week that for sure that I thought I blew it in the final round but it held.
Point, you just never know, all you can do is try your best, post your best possible score and wait to see what the leaderboard reveals, however I play early so I do not have the pressure of knowing what I need to shoot.
I know it's been a couple days since our usual multiple daily chats Dan, and I already miss them. GD Luck Dan and have fun in Spain.

I look at you and me as similar players dan. We are consistently up in the top 10's but we Never win, and probably never will lol i guess where you and me are different is that I'm kind of happy having not won and not being the best as it gives me something to continously strive for. I will continue to play this game while that's the case. I personally would really struggle if I was Ian to keep motivated to play. When you win every week and clearly the best player it must be hard to keep finding things to achieve and strive for. Full credit to him for keeping at it as I would probably have given the game away by now if I was that good haha. I say embrace being just one of us good, but not great players, this way we always have something to strive for

very well said...I feel the same way about my game...I've had numerous top 25's one top 10 this year, but haven't won. That's okay, I'm really happy with the consistency. I know I'm good, just not great...I hope to get there soon.

Does this mean the shout box is now a moan free zone? No, the moan free zone is still Balzheiser's bedroom. <rimshot> Thank you! Tip your waiters and waitresses! I'm here all week!
