Welcome to Week 1 of Season 2 of the Speed Golf.

We'll start the season by playing Monte Cervino, by scarpacci . An excellent course that has both great visuals and interesting holes. I hope you go back and play it after your speed golf round.

We also have a new warm-up hole, generously crafted by HB_KeithC . Some say it has the potential to become an ever better par 3 opener than the acclaimed "One hole to bind them".

You can find the challenge under Tours, named "speed-golf-s2w1".

The rules of speed golf can be found here; each stroke you make will add 30 seconds to your time. The person with the lowest combined score and time will be the winner!

There will be 13 weeks in a season, with points up for grabs every week. The top 20 players will receive points, as well as anyone who finishes a round in under 30 minutes. Your best 10 scores from the season will count towards your final standings, so it's not the end of the world if you have a bad week.

A bonus 5 points will be given to any ace on the warm-up hole! Please provide a screenshot as proof if you manage this to claim your bonus points.

This week will finish next Sunday, at 8pm UK.

I wish I could play my CC events like I just did this speed round. Holy cow. -12. I birdied out from 12 to the end. Almost jarred TWO approaches for eagle. And I think I was pretty quick, I barely looked where I was going at all.

Okay new season.. hopefully be able to keep playing this time. Made a nice start anyhow, have no idea how fast I was but didnt leave much out there and was playing as quick as I could on a course iv never been round. (-15)

-13 in 15 minutes. Had an agonising 30 second wait as the ball slowly rolled off the second green.
Why is my putting so much better when playing speed golf. Eagle flop in on the 18th was the icing on the cake. I also was very close to a hole in one.
I really should try these courses before playing the round but that defeats the purpose for me. I think that's the only way I could go any quicker.

i can think and calculate very quickly which really helps and it also comes from playing this game since it came out

One of the reasons why I've increased the time per stroke is to make it so that people don't feel like they have to hit every shot immediately. They can take a couple of seconds to scout out where they're going, and if they take less shots because of it then it should be worth it.
Still have to go fast though as the likes of Chaoz can shoot super fast and low!

I feel I should play every round like I play speed golf - I'm in the same boat as you (finished one stroke behind, not sure on time). Put multiple approaches within three feet. Whenever I'd miss fairways/greens I'd be able to salvage birdie/par.

Was like a foot away on the warmup hole... that was probably a good sign.

[At least something went well this week, I've been bumbling my way through the elim + Euro events recently]

Dean... that's a hell of a score/time! Not fast enough to take out the past champs like ichaoz, DO, and Fuzion, but very solid.

Cheers Jimmy. It was one of those rounds where most things went my way. Not bad for a web.com player!!!! (On exemption to Euro this week but 1st round didn't cut it. Stupid concentration mistake on the last hole cost me a double)
