It would be a marvellous addition to this site if we had a Hall of Fame where things like scoring records and various achievements were given pride of place for all to see. Thoughts?

Suggestions: It should be really hard to get into the Hall of Fame.. Maybe limit the amount of entries (players) into the hall each year to 3 on normal years.. You might want to have a larger limit the first few years.. Do Hall of Fame inductions the week before the Masters.. Have a panel to nominate players and another panel to vote on those nominations.. And then you can add scoring records and stuff like that also.. But keep getting into the Hall of Fame hard.. My nickels worth

Well, I guess if that's what you guys would want, then I guess you should just do it. I think it would be redundant, but what do I know. Half the time I get lost getting out of bed. I'm a miserable SoB with one battery short in the flashlight. sh%$. Now I need a drink. ( it has taken less than 30 seconds for me to do a shot of Gentleman Jack) Frankly, all the "Hall of Fame" would have listed is the usual group of players that are on top of the leaderboards (at least most of the time). Sure, you might have an occasional fluke and some average (or below average) player worm his/her way up there for induction, but if you needed to know who would be in the "Hall of Fame", just look at the weekly leaderboards and you will have your answer. I guess having a HoF would be cool for the top-of-the-leaderboard guys, but for the average slobs (like myself)....eh....well....congratulations, I guess (opera clap). ( I lit up a cigarette) Hell, there were doubts about another TGC Tour member's winning streak just a few weeks ago. How would that affect any possible induction (Well, he did meet all the requirements, but everyone thinks he's cheating/being underhanded....Good Christ on an Ice Cream Truck, what the hell are we going to do)? Do they legitimately deserve to be inducted if their gameplay is questionable? Would they be judged for induction on other factors beyond their gameplay? ( it has taken less than 30 seconds for me to do another shot of Gentleman Jack) Maybe yearly awards should be done instead? A yearly wrap-up? Best this or that. Most this or that. Most double bogey award, most buried-in-the-sand-trap award, most heavy rough award (I win 'em all!). Probably yearly awards (or whatever you would call it) wouldn't be much more suitable, but maybe there'd be a slightly better chance for the average gameplay nobody to ascend through the hallowed gates. Maybe we can have an awards banquet in Vegas! Step forward and be welcomed, Average Joe Now, I already know that probably everyone who reads this post will say something to the affect of "well, he's just cynical", or "he says that 'cause he won't be in there", or "he's just jealous", or "he's just butthurt", or "he's wrong". Well, maybe there is some truth to all of those statements. Then again, maybe all those statements are bullshit and what I am saying does make some sense (or at least a little bit)? Maybe others won't like me being negative about the idea of a Hall of Fame, which is fine, since everyone who knows me (with the exception of two people) doesn't like me, or hates me, so I'm kind of use to be blown off. The thread asked for "thoughts", and I was just sitting here sipping whiskey and smoking cigarettes, so I thought, what the hell, I'll chime in! Like I said before, if a "Hall of Fame" is desired, then just do it. The rules/details will work themselves out. Just do it if you want to. I wouldn't ask for opinions. You have one thumbs-down now. But then again, what do I know. ( it has taken less than 30 seconds for me to do a third shot of Gentleman Jack)

There would be a variety of criteria to allow for a variety of members. EDIT WITH SOME MORE IDEAS Usual Hall of Fame stuff and: Highest Winning Tournament Score (plus event and course) Lowest Tournament Score (plus event and course) Lowest Round Score (aggregate and to par) Highest round score (aggregate and to par) And others.

www.worldgolfhalloffame.org/induction/criteria/Here is the actual criteria for the real Hall of Fame. Like mentioned above, some guys would already qualify, but it would still be cool nonetheless. TGC may and could also tweak the requirements and/or add some of their own.

There used to be a record page on the main site with low round, 36, 54 and 72 score as I held the Euro tour 54 and 72 records briefly before Tom came along and shot his -75.

I actually thought about this myself and mentioned it to the Commish. I think he is right that its still premature for a Hall of Fame but definitely something that should be added in the near future!
