Separating the Field, its what its all about. more 80's than 60's you say,..... Separation is good. But one must consider how it's accomplished. Rolling loaded dice vs. a skill game may bring the same results but few would argue which is the better method.

Crawford Mines – Sunday 12/14 – Welcome to the final stop on the tour, Crawford Mines. Many of these players will need to dig deep here in the Mines in order to reveal any remaining metal in their games. Seeing a lot of relief from players as they walk off the last green. Not all of them have posted great scores, but most seem ready to let go of the pressure of the last 14 days. Only two more days, and quite a few high profile players yet to complete the circuit. Over the last fortnight we have seen a lot of stats about who is where and why. Which courses are punishing the players and which players are separating themselves from the tour, the bubble and their peers. Going forward the focus is going to be on the bubbles, and who is left to try and burst them for some of our key players. Mount Yeti – 72.98 Avg (611 Golfers) Whispering River – 71.55 (97%) Copper Creek – 75.44 (92%) Son Gual – 73.20 (89%) Kodiak Reserve – 75.79 (85%) Crawford Mines – 73.13 (77%)
Current Top 30 -36 Current Top 250 +1 Current Top 450 +28It is now easy to see where you currently stand. Top 30, Top 250, Top 450, all fairly clear with the current scores. However 23% of the people have at least one round left (some several more). That is the hard part to measure, especially for those sipping their drinks in the clubhouse. Top 250 in the clubhouse does you no good if you are top 252 after Tuesday. Here are the rounds left by players in tiers. While this chart is certainly large, it is going to be key to determining where you might finish. I have broken out each player yet to complete their tour (note this does not count the few players who may not have played at all yet). I have reviewed their scores against the course averages (not par) to see how they should fare over the last couple of days. There could be a lot of movement. Green in the Change column means they are predicted to move up into a new tier (top 30/250/450). Red means they are predicted to move down a tier (top30/250/450). Certainly several of these players will defy prediction, but if their current play holds, this is what will happen. In addition, Doyley would not win the tournament, Gerald Fraser would (by 8 strokes)! Green players should scare you if you are on the bubbles. Red players should help you if you are on the bubble. Certainly some of these players won’t complete their rounds either, so those are possible red flags looking to drop down to the Champions tour as well. Look for a LIVE @ Q School wrap up studio show on Wednesday. This will help reveal the cards, summarize the tour and get everyone energized for January.

Great reporting, mate!
Two courses really got me during Q-school, Copper Creek and Kodiak Reserve. Shooting 78 on both of them cost me 14 strokes. I finished at -2 thanks to a nice -5, most of which came on the back 9 on Crawford Mines.

I have a feeling that quite a few of those players who havn't finished all 6 courses yet wont finish up. Some of those guys have been on the leaderboard with 1 or 2 rounds played since the first weekend of Q school. Might see the cut drop to +4 or +5 if thats the case.

Another aspect is the fact that those with more than one round left to play can probably not afford to wait for favorable winds as the deadline draws closer and so would possibly not shoot as good compared to the average scores. My guess is that we will see little or no change in the top 30 at least. Also think the cut for PGA/Euro might go up by a stroke or two...

Completely agree on the number of people who may not get in all 6 rounds (especially those with 1 or 2 rounds in). I think the cut lines will remain pretty much the same... just because we may see some drop down to champions who dont finish all 6 rounds.

I am blow away by the stats of Mt Yeti and Crawford I would never had predicted their stroke average would be reverse from what I had expected.

Crawford Mines – Monday 12/16 – Welcome to the penultimate day. The final deep breath before many of us are forced to hold on through tomorrow. For those of you clinging to the hope that no more people would show up or that scores would remain stagnant, well you can put that dream to rest. 6 new players since yesterday. 34 more players completed all their rounds, and overall 71 rounds were played. At that pace, we will have only 50 or so people who don’t complete their rounds (out of 620+). And I would expect some urgency to ramp up so that number might be even lower. Mount Yeti 73.13 Whispering River 71.73 (97%) Copper Creek 75.66 (94%) Son Gual 73.31 (91%) Kodiak Reserve 75.93 (88%) Crawford Mines 73.43 (83%)The real battle of course is at the bottom of each tier. There is no real difference between 1st and 30th, between 40th and 240, or 260 and 445. That will be the areas to watch. So welcome to the bubble watch. I will update this again tonight, and a couple of times tomorrow, this will be the only real stat needed. The top tier has not bottom threshold of players who may join the group because of someone dropping out. All members of the top 30 have played all 6 rounds. * - Outside the top 30, but xbox top 10. Here are the key bubble players for the top 250. I will compile the 450 this afternoon as it is currently too fluid.

Bubble Update - 4pm EST Here are the 250 and 450 bubbles. I will update one more time tonight as well. There are 12 players currently "in" the top 250 who have 4 or 5 rounds left. IF they do not finish they will drop out. That MIGHT make 12 new spots. There are 36 players currently inside the top 450 with 4 or 5 rounds remaining. That MIGHT open up those spots if they are not able to complete.
