Well gentlemen, as I said in my previous post, this is my first week on Web.Com, playing on an exemption. I most likely don't belong in here, more of a CC-C, B, player but I came in this week feeling good and confident. I was wrong, so wrong.1st Round: Went ok, my putter was cold as ice, managed to score a decent 67. At that moment, my mood was in the low 50's (on a 100 scale) Then came Round 2, where everything fell in, so much that I scored 64! Mood was up in the 80's, felt very good, thought "Hey, this course isn't so bad after all" Round 3: Didn't play very good, most of my shots were way off and with the wind, it was tough to place the ball on a decent spot on the green. Shot 68. Then Sunday, all hell broke loose. I missed atleast 10 putts by an inch or so. The final nail in the coffin came in at 15, where I had a 14 feet putt for the birdie, 5 inches downhill. Well, I don't know how I calculated the putt, but the ball ended up all the way down the hill, 59 feet away from the hole, with 2 feet elevation. That is when I lost my composure and sent my microphone in a wall (Don't worry for the mic, the thing is as tough as a Nokia, I'm more worried about the wall at this point). I shot 70. Safe to say that my humor was at -0 at the end. 67 - 64 - 68 - 70 = -19 I'm just glad to pack my things and get the heck out of here. It was overall a very frustrating week, I don't know how many times I've cursed about the course and all, but most likely, it was only me playing very poorly. It was a very tough battle. I guess you grow up as a player in tough conditions. There were some times where I would be absolutely frightened on the tee like on holes 13,15, 17 and 18. Narrow fairways and water everywhere tend to scare me a lot. Now hopefully this will be enough to grant me a Web.Com card. You guys seem to be a nice group and I would love to play with you for the next weeks/months, but I wouldn't be too sad about going back in CC. I guess everything comes to those who wait. Have a nice week, Lino. Lino you're being way to hard on yourself. The score that you've put up is very respectable and fwiw I think you will make the cut and earn your card. This is a very tough course. Andre specialises in them 'cos he's a freakin' sadist. Go try the major at Doral this week or the Euro course @ Malkie Coast both first rounds are waaaaay easier than this one. Anyway good luck getting your card.

Well I stuck To my relaxation techniques and started the tour perfectly centred hit the ball down the centre of the fairway then went for the green yes I lasted a whole one shot haha. But after a chip 2 putts and a tantrum I had a sip of my tea and continued. Played some really boring golf nothing happened till the tenth were I knew the shot I had to play but changed my mind. Followed by bank rock bush water reload over hit chip putt double. Had a nice run coming in finished -7. Round 2 was -4 after 5 (this might of been round 3) all was well then on to the tenth missed green bad chip 2 putts bogey at least was only 1 this time but low and behold I dropped the other one on the 11th fought back again dropped another on 15 but fought my way in for another -7. Round 3 nothing interesting till an eagle 2 on 9 . I needed it because next was the tenth and guess what off the back bad chip 2 putts . Fought back again and finished -7 again and was also guess we're on the PSN board??? 7th. Round 4 I missed 2 easy putts in the round but held 2 monsters was the toughest round I think I was thru 9 with dropping a shot but then the tenth off the back chip putt !!! Hang on a minute that's only 3 shots a par on 10 felt like a birdie. Dropped another on 15 when a 20 footer went around the back of the hole nearly stopped then a fly landed on it and left me with a 60ft put for par. Struggled to the end to a -4. Total -25 To be honest I'm delighted with the score as I just don't play well on Andre's courses and IMO this is a very solid score . I'll hazard a couple of guesses here in @canthititstraight style. Winner -35 Exemption -28 Cut -11

I'm gonna vent here a bit...
I suck!
Got a 9 on a par 5 in round 3. Ball kept rolling back again. Hopefully I make the cut and get a few WGR points or something.

Flew around for rounds 3 and 4, course ended up winging me. My notes say 68, 72 for -20 finish.
Don't recall much except the 6th got me again in rd3, as did the 10th, geez, logic says i must have made a few birds somewhere.
Made up a couple of shots on the field on the 6th in 4th round by dropping a 6 ft curler for birdie, only to give it right back on the 7th with a bogey from nowhere, was 3 under on 18th tee. Hit an invisible branch trying to carry the rough, fell into a bunker, good lie, 3i clipped the lip (must have) went 12 yards, deep rough, hacked out, flew a pw almost 120 yds with half a block loft, loooong putt for bogey, had a 5 footer for dbl, missed that one too.
We even now Andre!

My first shot of round two found the rough so that limited my options for my second shot, not possible to even attempt to find the green in two. I put my third shot close for a birdie start. With the risky shot taken away from me on the first, I decided I might as well take a chance on the second. As soon as I hit it, I knew I was not going to clear the rocks, but where was the ball going to end up. Like all shots the have a questionable outcome, the ball traveled in slow motion, it finally hit the top of the rocks and bounced forward, clearing the green and stopping forty yards in the heavy rough. Which in the end was a good result, it allowed me to pitch the ball close for a second birdie. The conditions were perfect for putting the ball close on the third but I found myself on the wrong side of the cup with a breaking putt, nevertheless I should have made it, my ball hit the edge of the cup and just would not drop, I left a birdie behind me there. I did go three under on four, again the low winds meant it possible to go straight for the hole, a positive start, now to avoid doing anything silly. I hit my second shot on five straight towards the trees, not what I had planned, just hit to much draw, the ball went through the branches and thankfully dropped on the fairway, I sliced my approach a little leaving me further away than I would have liked, my birdie putt did not have much break though and I rolled it in for birdie. I was happy to take par on six, I had a put with a lot of break, I just wanted to avoid over hitting it and have it travel far from the hole, a good par. A disappointing tee shot on seven left me well behind the hole with a tricky downhill putt, like the last hole, I just wanted to avoid putting myself in a position where bogey came into play, so I hit it gently and was surprised to see it slowly roll into the cup. My pitch to the green on eight also took me by surprise, not by rolling in into the cup this time but how far it rolled past, my birdie putt just missed and I think I left another birdie behind me. I came close to messing up the ninth, my approach was all wrong and ended up rolling forty feet from the hole, now was time for a good lag putt, it was uphill which allowed me to put some pace on the ball which stopped four feet short, I gratefully took par for what was a good front nine.
I just wanted to avoid bogey on ten, so I took no chances, my ball rolled off the green but I expected that, I could have done better with my chip but par was never in doubt. I made life difficult for myself on eleven with yet another misjudged pitch that went well beyond the hole, I also misjudged my chip putting a little bit of pressure on myself with the par putt. I made the putt. I still needed to pick up a couple of more shots but also needed to avoid leaving myself in positions where my good word on the front nine could come undone. I hit a eighty nine percent tee shot on twelve, my heart was in my mouth as I saw that my ball might not clear the water, it landed just in the rough on the waters edge, inches from disaster. I had to play a wedge to make sure I found the fairway and was left with a long iron shot to the green. The putt I ended up with was terrifying, severe break, downhill, lagging this was not possible, putting it in the hole was the only way to stop the ball and I did, somehow I got it right, after my tee shot, I just wanted to get away with par, to make birdie was such a bonus. I was taking no risks on thirteen, I could do without another heart in mouth situation, so a nice safe tee shot followed by a terrible approach which left me a fifteen foot putt which I then proceeded to make a complete balls off, I hit it thirteen feet past the hole, so much for avoiding heart in mouth situations. I made par, the putt coming back dropped and I took a five minute break to stop the shaking. There was no way I was going for the green in two on fourteen after the previous two holes. I played a iron for my second shot to make sure I was well short. I got my pitch right this time and the tap in birdie brought a little relief to the back nine. It seems two sensible shots in a row is beyond me, I took a driver on fifteen and ended up in the heavy rough, there was no way I was putting my second close, so it was lag putt time again for a good par. Sixteen was playing tough today, I went through different shot options in my head and could not find one that might bring birdie, I played my tee shot well short but it was not stopping and it rolled off the green behind the hole, a safe par was made when I chipped close. I found the bunker with my tee shot on seventeen, my bunker shot ended up five feet behind the cup with a putt that scared the living shite out of me, it did not break much, it was not a steep downhill shot, but if I went beyond the hole I could end up off the green. I chickened out and just tapped it, just enough to make the ball roll a little so I could guarantee par. I finished up with another safe par and was happy to leave the course seven under.
That back nine was tense, I did lose my nerve towards the end when maybe I could have pushed a little. I left a couple of shots behind me on the front nine but more than made up for it on the back nine by getting away with murder. I am not going to play my third round for a day or day, give myself time to recover for what I guess will be a tougher round. That's if I make the cut. I am hopeful fifteen under will. Good luck all.

Anyone notice how after each hole on this course your arse cheeks get closer together to the stage they nearly become one by the time you get to the blind swinger you have to play on 18 . I love this course props to the selector . And the designer I suppose!

I love this course...and hate it.
-8 -7
I left some shots out there, especially in R2.
But I'm very happy with -16 and looking forward (like getting a root canal) to hopefully playing on the weekend.
And -8 R3.
Man is the third round tough.

What a fantastic start to the night. I'd been struggling so far but I pulled out a 60. My best round by a mile.
Problem though. It was a practice/warm up round. The last one before my first round proper. It's a bit like dress rehearsals for me. If it goes right I'm normally screwed for the real thing. Here goes nothing..............

Distracted on the first, it's so hard playing abroad with those fans always on your back. I was so disappointed not to birdie the hole, I completely fluffed a 4 foot straight putt, leaving it short. Confidence drained as usual! I made nothing more than steady progress to get it back to -2 after 9. Disaster on 10 as another bogey stops any thoughts of a come back. I was fairly satisfied to get it back to -5 and a good birdie putt on the last was pretty much my first of the round. Just about every birdie was a tap in and I almost holed 3 or 4 approach shots. It's going to be a battle to make the cut tomorrow!
