Ugh. Once again, I had a fantastic round and a seriously mediocre round. -11 in the winds of R3 was followed by a pitiful -3 in the last round, putting me at -37. I feel a little bit better after seeing Boomer's incredible score (nice shooting, Bryan), but pissing away those two amazing middle rounds definitely sucks. A week of "what-if"s for me, to say the least. Good luck to everyone with golf to play! Thought I was finally going to be able to pip you this week when I was -35 under with 12 holes to go... but then just couldn't get anything going and ended up even on the rest to finish at -35, probably shouldn't have played all 4 rounds straight through. Wasn't far from albatross on the last (I think) par 5 with the multiple ridges, but just rolled by and then slowly slid down the slope and I barely made par
Still, probably my best tourney in a few weeks given the conditions, hopefully this is enough to get me out of the mid-20s funk. Missed a few putts that I shouldn't have, but also made a few I shouldn't have as well, so can't complain too much.
How many eagle hole-outs did you have in those middle two rounds? It seemed like your ghosts were making it rain! Another week of absolutely no hole-outs for me, getting frustrating watching you drain three's from downtown.
Will be interesting to see the scores come in this week, seems like on xbox there is a pretty wide range so far. This tourney really tested so many aspects of the game with the softer conditions in R2, winds in R3, and tight pins in R4.
I had many hole outs in my rounds but and still only shot -35 so i could have easily been better. I was like you, missed putts i shouldn't have but made some i normally wouldn't. Hopefully i can do good at the WGC next week and eliminate those stupid mistakes.

I opened with 2x 59s. I'm going to practise the final two rounds and see what happens...

Hmm, -11 on that R3 is deserving of a win. I've just scrambled for a -4 to leave me at -32 after 3. Just a gentle -12 or -13 to win then (or beat Boomer)! Haha Best of luck...... Routine task ahead ..... You're safe from me anyway! Haha Shot -9 last round for -41 overall. Was at -10 on 17 and got aggressive with the chip I had. Unfortunately it went the other way and missed the putt back up. Good luck on the wait

2nd week in a row i've tied with @ichaozxd
Frustrating one for me this week. First 2 rounds were good (60 & 61) but both featured dumb bogies.
Final two rounds i started hot (-5 & -6 through 9) but botched the Back 9.
Was never matching BoomBoom's score but should have easily broken -40

Should have at least reached -40 with a triple and a couple of other bogeys (i think) costing me. Something to note is that i was -7 thru 6 to start the tourney and only finished -11 so that was pretty disappointing. I think i messed up a couple of birdie holes too with short irons in my hand so that doesn't help at all. I don't think i could shoot what BoomBoom did, that was simply amazing but i think i could have got close. Anyway Jacko, nice to match you again

Unfortunately that 3rd round from me was pathetic and might cost me. Add to that all the Par 5s I parred, definitely a missed opportunity. Not to say it's a done deal anyway. Still got the man of the moment Tim Russell to play! Plus Brian and Tylet Duke I think. There's always these fine margins anyway. As I said earlier, the 3rd round score from Boomer is worthy of a win.

Not that i can't play in the high winds, i just couldn't do it there and then. That round cost me getting anywhere near -40 and i also comitted a cardinal sin on a few holes with short irons like i have said. You can't be paring Par 5s on tour

You can't be paring Par 5s on tour I'm gonna guess you had similar pitch shots in R3. I couldn't believe how much the wind was affecting them. The problem is you can't really practice those shots outside of a tournament unless you go in search of tours/tournaments with crazy head winds. I've made a mental note anyway! Haha.

It's amazing how pin positioning can take a course that seems benign in the first few rounds to "I want to take tear my hair out / I suck at this game / I'm not as good as my first two rounds made me feel" mode. That last round was probably my worst in this entire 2016 season. I started off with -9 and -12 in the first two. Then in the third when the winds were kicking up into the deep teens and no one was shooting low, I was pretty excited to be sharing a 3 stroke lead with Jacko at 6 under. Then I went through a cold streak and ended limping past the finish line at 5 under. The fourth round had me shooting 3 bogeys and a double bogey. I attempted more 50 foot putts in that last round than I had in the first 3 rounds. I finished 27 under. But as frustrated as I was after that Sunday round, I still believe that the collective 4 pin setup of Tye Dunes is such a perfect fit as a challenging PGA course. No one's shooting -50 on this course. The winning score and top 30 scores will be similar that of the Northern Trust Open. But I'm pretty sure the cut-line here will be well into the teens. Here are my predictions for the week: Winner: -43 Top 5: -38 Top 30: -30 Cut-line: -15 I'm beginning to think the cut could stretch all the way to -17 or -18... some great scores in round 1 with some really good players still too tee off.

Yeah, I think I might have completely underestimated the field here. 14 more registrants this week than last week at Riviera could bring up the average as well.

Nah, I think your predictions were rather prescient.
You threw them out there Saturday night and they all look pretty good to me with over half the field already posting scores.

Had a pretty piss poor start last night only going -1 through 3 holes with some atrocious approach shots early on but was able to get back to -12. Had a hole out pitch eagle from 65 yards on one of the Par 5's on the back 9 that has the pin towards the back but the green fed towards the hole. Played like 10 yards short and rolled down the slope and went in.
Don't think I have a shot this week but will see how it plays out.

Done the two "easy rounds" although I found them tough lol, managed to be bogey-free, which always helps. Rd 1 62 and Rd 2 63. Found scoring more difficult on Rd 2, short game had a big workout, and I felt fortunate to post a respectable score with a 36 footer for birdie on 18, to follow up this beauty on #6.
Very rare for me to hole one long one in a round, let alone two. Looking at the scores for Rd3 and Rd4, I'll be trying to just break par haha.

I finished -36 with 2x 65s to finish off. During Rd 3 and 4 I probably had at least 10 putts that were, very, very, very close to going in...but didn't Positives...another great ball striking week, only one bogey and zero 3 putts
