I expect the scores to be similar to the ones we're seeing this week, so I think my final -37 could give yet another exemption to reach B. And almost for sure, my CC-C card

Well, in the 3 practice rounds I've played on the tour I set up, I've shot -26, -24 and -20. My goal is -20 for the actual event. That should keep me above the demotion strike line and possibly even sneak me into the exempt line.
Now, this brings up an interesting scenario that, IMO, I think is unfair to those with sponsor's exemptions struggling to climb up the classes. And the more I think about this, the more unfair it really is.
Let's say I shoot 24 under this coming week. And when the week ends, it's actually good enough to earn me a sponsor's exemption into Class C.
But...the top sponsor exemption player shoots 40 under, which is 1 stroke more than the 15 I need to be within him in order to earn my card.
So, we have a situation where, I've played well enough to earn an exemption into C Class, but because I didn't come within 15 shots of the top sponsor exempt player, I actually play the next week in E Class.
At the very worst, the positive and the negative should cancel each other out and I should get another shot in D Class, still as a sponsor exempt player. But instead, I go back down to E Class.
In fact, this really has already happened to me.
This week, because I didn't come within 15 shots of the top player, I was back down in E Class. I shot 33 under. In D Class, which is where I feel I should have been, this would have been good for 27th place and above the exemption line again.
Bottom Line: It only takes one player each week to keep knocking you back a class no matter how well you finish relative to the rest of the field.
Frustrating? That's putting it mildly.
While I can now see myself competing in the upper classes as my game has finally improved dramatically, I'm probably never going to get that chance because of this 15 shots within the top sponsor exempt player rule. I do, in a way, understand why they do it. Without it, there would be no lower classes over time or, at best, very few people in them.
Next week I'll have yet another sponsor exemption into D Class. And more likely than not, I'll be back in E Class the following week, not because I shot poorly, but because the guy at the top shot some off the charts scores, especially for somebody in the same class as me.
What I'm wondering is, based on the rate of new players coming into the game, and the rate at which these players progress in their play, how long it will be before I'm finally actually the top exempt player and will actually earn the card above me. As I don't have the stats (I wonder if anybody even does, including TGC Tours) I can only guess. But it just seems there's always one guy in E Class who shoots tons better than everybody else in it and is thus impossible to stay within distance of.
Anyway, I'm going to try to just put all this behind me next week and just play my best game and hope for the best.
But the truth is, a lot of the outcome is out of my hands.

Just played the first 2 rounds...now is time to stop as in my history 3/4 rounds in a row are not the best way to play a tournament... a solid 60 in the first round and following up my friend Jim I finally broke the wall in the second round with a 58 that will mean 22 under after 2 rounds... see you during the next few days to put together the 2 final rounds

Go go go Andrea I really don't know what to say...started the 3rd round very slowly but have been able to finish the round 8 under par for a 30 under for the tournament... I was scared to play the 4th round as I knew I was possibly burning a good opportunity to gain the C card if the result will not be good enough. At the end I played it and I prefer not to post the result... I really don't know where my score will take me as I have seen a lot of solid rounds out there so I'm not sure it will be good enough Let's wait a few days and see what happens take care Roberto

I can tell you Roberto that I finished at -37. I'm pretty confident that it's enough to get the card, and I think there are real chances to get the exemption for CC-B

You guys are brutal. Lets all Join Jim in C...then leave me behind in C by myself while you all play on your cute little exemptions. lol
Though I may squeak on in there with my rounds, think I'm borderline though.

Tim, you'll be there soon enough. I see you've won this one unless something weird happens. So it's on to C for you next week, get your card and you'll be on your way to B in no time. In the meantime, I'll just keep bouncing back and forth between D and E.

If you get the W you'll be in C automatically....your score at Spirit should be good enough to get you an exemption to B for the Fossmill tourney. Fossmill is gonna bring some people back down to earth. Tight and tough

Hello all. New to tgc tours and did badly in Q school due to only comming back to the game.
I think i did ok today with a scores of 10 under 11under 8 under 7 under
I'll say watch out for round 3 as the wind was up in the 17/18 mph
I actually got my first hole in one aswell in this tour but unfortuantly chock in the last round (should of took a break)
From reading a small bit on the forums,it seems like a nice community so wanted to say good luck all.

Welcome to tgctours and the forums. I hope you enjoy yourself here.It is a pretty nice community and people can be quick to offer advice and encouragement. If you have any questions, ask away and I am sure you will get a answer. I am not in the challenge circuit anymore but had a great time while I was and I am sure you will as well. And while most people here are nice, there are one or two you have to watch out for, like that Pablo guy. I would not trust him as far as I could throw him, which is not very far considering the size of him. This comment about Pablo is not in any way shape or form mind games because I have a match play game against him soon, that is just a pure coincidence
