If you finish in the bottom 50% you don't automatically earn a strike...the 50% is for REMOVAL of your demotion strikes. It has been increased as well as the % of exemptions. The demotion strike line stays the same at outside the top 70 golfers including ties.

The demotion strike line stays the same at outside the top 70 golfers including ties. This is incorrect The demotion strike line indicates who will get demotion strikes (all below it). Top 70 is now a thing of the past. The Demotion Strikes line (set at 50% for February, 40% standard months) will fluctuate depending on how many are in the field. The clear strikes line (22.5% for all flights) indicates who will get their strikes cleared (all above it) and for moving month the exemption line (which also clears strikes) will always be higher (30% vs 22.5%) so the clear strikes baseline for BCDE in February will be the Exemption line.

I was a little fuzzy on the demotion line too. I'll have to worry about that next week in CC-C I'm sure. Thanks Doyley.

Some questions came up about earning PGA/Euro exemptions in the Web.com tour.
Prior to week 16, the top 5 finishers in the Web.com tournament earned an exemption to PGA/Euro. The dynamic cutline/exemptions, if I'm reading it correctly don't apply to Web.com, but during February moving month, the exemption line is "10%".
Is that 10% of the entire field, 10% of the entire field that enters scores, or 10% of the field that makes the cut?
How is this figure rounded? This week, we had a field of 137 (121 who entered scores) and 81 players made the cut (a 15-player tie for 67th).
How many exemptions are up for grabs this week?
8 (10% of those making the cut), 10 (double the usual 5), 12 (10% of players who entered scores), 13 (10% of field rounded down), 14 (10% of field rounded to nearest whole number)?

10% of entire field - rounded...umm, not sure what we decided on - think it was down but Tim would have to confirm.

But an interesting scenario comes up here: One could theoretically, while on exemption, finish within 15 strokes of the top exemption finisher and yet be in the bottom 50%. They would satisfy the rule of earning their card in the next tier up, but also meet the criteria of earning a strike on that tour. I can only speculate what happens then. Not sure if that scenario was thought of or will actually happen or not. This actually happened this past week to a couple guys and myself on CC-C exemptions. The 3 of us finished -30 while the top exempt player finished at -45. We were all T56 which was just under the demotion strike line by 1 stroke. It appears we are all still in CC-D however so I'm figuring the Top 70 rule for earning a card on exemption got bumped up with the demotion strike line for this month.

PGA: You have to be the top exempted player (the tour is full so we're limiting it to 1 per week) Euro: have to make the cut

Quick question: I'm playing on a sponsor exemption in CC-D this week. I'm outside of 15 from the leader but it looks like I will finish in the exemption line this week. So, my question is will I earn a CC-D card now or will I go back to CC-D? Also since I am in the exemption line, would I get a sponsor exemption for CC-C next week?
Thanks for answering and I love playing on the tour!

To the best of my understanding, if you're playing in D Class under a sponsor's exemption from E Class and you finish more than 15 strokes in back of the top sponsor, even though you finish above the exempt line, you still end up going back to E Class. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I am.

Hopefully they let us move on up, or at least get another exemption to CC-D for next week! haha
