I think that format is the best and the one we will go for. The only problem is that we still have only 15 Irish players and 3 non Irish looking to play. What should we do?

If were goin with 16 players and 8 teams this is wat i propose. Top 8 in WGR are seeded and cant be paired together. the remaining 8 are then randomly assigned to the top 8 WGR. Keeps it fair. I think highest rank with lowest.. Or else just do an open draw...

An open draw would not be fair as you would surely end up with a few teams that are very strong and others considerably less so. I think it's best to pair players by ranking and tour.

It wud need some luck in hoping the numbers work out in terms of players per tour. Id go with the seeding top 8 WGR, that way it shud work out that we get even teams across the board.

Assuming we don't get another Irish player in the next day or two, I propose setting up a 36 hole qualifying tournament for the 4 non Irish players and the winner of this tournament gets in as a qualifier. Does this sound ok?
