I have a query from an illiterate Leprechaun named Anthon Satanrouge who has played well in the last 3 tournaments on TGC and so is fresh out of WISHES. He claims to have Irish citizenship. Anthon's 2nd mother twice removed from his sister's niece was born in Muldova but met Anthon's 3rd father while on holiday in LetterKenny with his 1st mother's nephew from a previous marriage. Nobody knows to this day where his 3rd father hailed from. Anyway,, they hit it off and honeymooned in Wicklow (can you believe it, yeah,,, Wicklow ) before marrying out of wedlock and producing Anthon who was hurriedly smuggled to the dark glens of Donegal by rainbox in a Fiat Punto. They secured a VISA which Anthon claims to have been back dated post his birth while on the rainbow. His question as such then is whether or not he will qualify for the Irish Tournament. In the likely event that he may or may not qualify he has asked me to enquire as to whether or not there might any chance of a Muldovian tournament opening in the near future?? Yours in anthonipation, Anonymous. your funny!!... Looking!! as long as this Anthon dude doesn't need to b paired up with you in this Irish tourney he won't need surgery on his back for having to carry you around!

I've some good news n bad news boys!! The good news is the no.1 ranked player on tgc tours has a bit of Irish in him..The bad news is he's eligible for this tourney if he applies Its getting like the 94 Irish world cup team in here! Sure we already had the world no.3 so and I'm sure Garcia is a descendant of the Mac Garacháin Clan.

We only have 10 players officially signed up so far. If you know of others who wish to play then can you please get them to sign up. Should we open it up to the half Irish or honorary Irish?

Up to u m8.. My view is that there are loads of different types of tourneys on the golf club to play..from tst to tgct to lggt etc etc.. Having a different type of tourney where its specifically Irish players in it would give the tourney a distinction n a different feel to it.. Otherwise its just another tourney.. Up to you though bud.. I'm sure you'll do good job organising it whatever the case

Hi Chris, One suggestion would possibly be to set it up as the Irish Invitational Team Championship. Some thoughts for your consideration or rejection , whichever, just some ideas .. 1) Only 10 listed as interested so far so priority initially would be to bolster our participating numbers - hence the reason for Invitational above. 2) Each Irish registered member to this championship would be obliged to invite and deliver 2 non Irish friends to participate, thus tripling our active participants. 3) One key criterium surrounding these 2 non Irish invitees would be that one is WGR above and the 2nd is WGR below the Irish captain so to speak - thus keeping a fair balance and avoiding possible loaded teams (Bandidos !). You as organiser could set criteria on this if and as you so fit !! 4) Non Irish players on each 3 man team cannot be from the same country - avoid favouritism and cliques.... 5) Teams would then obviously consist of 3 rather than 2 players. (1 Irish and 2 other different countries). Could it work ?

Thank you very much for your input, I think that you have raised an excellent idea about each member inviting two non Irish players to the tournament. I honestly think this is our only option as over the weekend I sent a message to all active Irish players registered with TGC Tours and you nine were the only ones to get back to me. Regarding the invited players, just how far above or below should they be from the person inviting them. Should they be from at least one tier either side of that person. I would like to hear other players thoughts on this idea. The heart of this tournament will definitely be us Irish players, as we will be in the majority, but adding a few international players I think won't do any harm and I think we all want to see as many people taking part as possible.

Don't listen to pugtrubble!! he's the Peter Risdale of forums! He'd sink a gravy boat!! but for what its worth I'm not against non Irish players joining this event! So we're going to lessen the restrictions on the application process! If a family relative has farted in the direction of Ireland at any point in the last 50 years... Then... Your in!!!
