As humans, we find loopholes in everything. This is why we have lawyers.
Anyhow, due to some family issues this week, I won’t be able to play my rounds until WED/THURS (might not be able to play them at all). Let’s say that I am an unintentional watcher this week.
So, this brings me to ask this question:
With the new WGR, is it better to play in a tournament & miss the cut or to not play at all? I theory, I could play my two rounds and wait to get a good gauge as to whether or not I could make the cut then post my score if I have confidence. I have come to realize that I may never win on the WEB. If I have a real good week, I might be able to get an exemption. Couldn’t we do this with PGA/EURO exemptions too? Play a few rounds on both tours and then pick the one we might get promoted to?

In a rare occurrence, played all 4 of my rounds last night. I had serious concerns about this course in my 2 practice rounds on the thursday pins, but apparently I figured it out a bit once the lights were on.
-10, -11, -5, -8 = -34
I hate the trampoline greens, but the course itself was nice and different. Fair amount of variety and nothing too cheesy out there.
I've cashed in the 2 exemptions I've earned for the PGA events the next 2 weeks. I've already registered, so no nonsense about starting a tournament and deciding whether or not to play it depending on first round. Like I said in my first post this year, people will ALWAYS be thinking of the next shortcut. Heading to Pebble & Riviera back to back. Going to get drilled but at least it's on real courses that I've seen before so it should be fun. Hopefully a few of you will be up there with me and we can have a little web.com invasion.
As of last night -34 was 1st on the ps4 and I'm 100000% sure it won't last. Two very unfortunate bogeys hurt me, and there were some HIGH winds in round 3, 15mph plus on most of the back nine. Also there are definitely some lurkers out there. There were more -10's on the ps4 leaderboard than were on the website that's for sure.
Good luck out there everybody, I'll be practicing over at Pebble for the next 4 or 5 days. If anyone is moving up and wants to play a practice round with me, hit me up.

-11, -7, -7, -3. Gives me the leader on ps4 by four. Don't think it will last. I had a handful of bad bogies the last round, but plenty of luck in the previous three. Warm up your chippers and give it some backspin fellas. I played my final round last night, I get to the 17th hole with a one shot lead on you. It's at this point my hands turn to jelly, I then proceed to go double bogey - bogey on the last two holes and finish two shots behind, not only that, I also get an ear full from the wife for "over-reacting" "it's only a game of golf", I'm sure you've all heard those words before, it never makes up for the heart break of losing a lead. I've got an exemption to the Pga next week so I'll see you boys again soon! I've learned to get my rounds in when the family is otherwise occupied. It's definitely for the benefit of everyone involved...

Are you asking because you are thinking of doing this or just bringing it up as a loophole?
In the end, it will always come down to your personal integrity. We shouldn't be mad at the rules (or lack of rules) by the admins but more upset at the folks that skirt them. To me, it's a video game and if this is how people want to play it, then whatever, I will try harder to beat you while you cheat, err, bend the rules.
(BTW, I am absolutely not speaking of Jordan because I do not think he is one of these people I speak of)

So are you saying that this will not count for you because you already registered for a PGA event or you are playing this Web tournament and then next week you will use your exemption?
This I do have a huge problem. What you did was you just took away an exemption spot for someone else who may have wanted a chance to move up. Now again, you will probably take another exemption spot this week. You guys that do this are shorting the upper tours of participants that want to move up. USE YOUR EXEMPTIONS IMMEDIATELY PLEASE!!!!!

My frustration is shrouded by the cover of darkness, 2 floors of separation, and background music to muffle the agony...

I'm not sure I'm following this. I'm registered in the web.com tourney this week and that is what I'm playing. I earned 2 exemptions the last 2 weeks and I registered for the pebble tourney and the riviera tourney. I was under the impression that this weeks PGA event was full, and I wanted to play in the Pebble tournament. So I registered for those 2 tournaments. I don't see how I'm holding anyone back. My exemptions didn't expire before I used them or anything. I certainly am not trying to skirt any rules or take any shortcuts. I earned 2 exemptions, didn't think I could use the 1st one right away, and once I had the 2nd one I immediately registered for 2 PGA events. Am I missing something?

I think you are missing what Heman was saying a bit, I got that you played the tour that you we're registered for this week and you have saved up 2 exemptions to have a crack at the next 2 PGA events. Heman's argument is that you are in the field again this week and judging by your score you might be up to get another exemption this week thus taking a spot on guys trying to go up. I was unfortunate to finish 15th last week and the top 14 got exemptions and you were one of those who got a second one. This is what he means by holding people back, it has a knock on effect that people don't realise

I've started a totally unintended exemption dispute lol anyways I understand both sides of the fence and honestly having more than 1 exemption at a time shouldn't be allowed. The loophole that there is for playing before really submitting on a specific tour sucks but unfortunately it would be incredibly difficult to combat. I personally used this in a slight advantage because I played terribly and then registered on the PGA with my exemption that I wasn't 100% sure it was going to work. But besides that point I believe I should have not even had a choice to play the Web this week because I've earned the exemption last week. Just my opinion.

Ok I get what Heman (Can I call you Adam?...) is saying a bit more now. I guess the ideal situation would be to only be able to earn/keep 1 exemption at a time until you play in a tournament at the higher level, so that you couldn't earn another one until you came back down and would be "skipped" in the exemption earning process. Though I'm sure that would be impossible for the admins to track. I didn't really think I was ready for the PGA but after earnining the exemptions and reading people on here felt compelled to use them. I understand the frustration of someone who really wants to earn one and try the higher tours just missing out and then seeing the same names on the leaderboard the next week. I apologize for taking a spot or 2 from anyone reading this and if I don't make the cut the next 2 weeks I'll use my future exemptions immediately unless otherwise impossible.

(BTW, I am absolutely not speaking of Jordan because I do not think he is one of these people I speak of) If you are asking me, integrity should not be an issue. I was in CCA last year and mistakenly entered the wrong score for the final round of the year-end championship tournament (1 stroke). I was about in 30th place and would have moved to the WEB for sure (top 100 or something moved up). I turned myself in and got demoted to CCB because it was my second demotion strike. Took me forever to get back to CCA and then eventually the WEB. Believe me, if I get an exemption, I would use it week one for sure. No questions asked. Also, I usually play my rounds early in the week but I am not able to this week. I am wondering if I should skip this week or try the tournament. My practice round were not anywhere close to the top. Is it better to skip out and not play or play and not make the cut for WGR? That is basically my question. I've been hot and cold on the web. I am wondering if it makes sense to skip a few tournaments where the course does not match my style.

Not sure that's necessary... Here are my results since starting to play the game again. T-46th, CUT, T-36th, CUT, T-17th, T-28th, T-2nd, t-6th. So while I have been improving, it certainly isn't a dominant performance by any stretch. I have as many missed cuts as I have top 5's, yet looking back over the results I see FOUR multiple tourney winners on the Web tour this year, 1 of which won THREE times. So while I totally get everyone's point, said as much, said I'm sorry and that I will use my exemptions immediately going forward, I really don't think wanting to hang around on the tour where I'm having fun and being moderately competitive at times is the worst thing going on with the Tours at this point. Perhaps the admins could develop an "Accept or Decline" option on the exemptions that you have to handle within 24 hours of the tourney finalizing. Accepting enters you into that weeks higher tour automatically and if you decline it goes to the next person in line?
