In my return to Web.com after another failed sponsor's exemption, I figured I could take out my frustrations on Andre's Canuck Club at Angel Plateau. I played pretty well, going down to 57 in one of my rounds. But I also shot a 63, which included my only bogey. Twas a 6 foot uphill birdie putt that sailed straight over the hole and took me two more putts to sink. But I suppose I can't complain as I sank more sideway sloping birdie putts than I had in practice.
Winds are relatively calm in all rounds. Rarely did I see double digit winds, maybe less than 15% of all holes in the tournament. Make sure you guys get in some practice in all four pin sets this week. The Saturday and Sunday pins will naturally be harder because of the faster greens.
The cut line this week will be higher than it has been in a while. Much of Thursday and Friday is low single digit winds with very manageable green speeds. I can't imagine too many people hitting in the 50's on the weekend rounds. The winner will certainly have to.
Predictions:
Winner: -52 Top 5: -47 Top 30: -38 Cut-line: -18
Good luck this week!

With my best round so far been 65 easy to say I'm very nervous about this week just can't seem to get to grips with the course!
A lot of tricky pins that can be punishing to my smash and deal with the consequences style of putting! Need a bit of luck this week

63,64,66,66 - hopeless putting. Twice subtracted the wind instead of adding - oh dear...ending up nowhere near the green let alone the flag.
I blame my new lucky cap.

59-60-62-70 for me for -37 overall. First 3 rounds were a doddle no bogeys then on the last round managed 3 bogeys and a triple bogey when chipping on and off the green twice. Should of practised the last round but just concentrating on making the cut at the moment

Im starting to think there might be something to this watcher thing. Last week i was -15 after 2 rounds and i just watched my score get closer and closer to the cut then finally cut. I might hold off a few days this week and play my rounds mid week.

An endearing term we use for those that watch how the leaderboard looks near the Thursday and Saturday deadlines without having played their rounds yet. They play their rounds near the deadline or worse, play their rounds earlier on and then post their scores right near midnight EST so as to break as many hearts and destroy as many cut line dreams as possible. =)

Basically, it is people who play thier rounds but do not enter them until the last minute.
For me, i think i play better chasing the lead rather than trying to post an early score. At this point, i have been about 50 50 with cuts so i need to change strategy a bit.

You really do have the case of the nerves Marc! I saw that you hit a -36 in Euro. That was harder to do than your -33 on Web.com!

But I just can't help myself. Perhaps I have issues with instant gratification? As soon as the rounds go live Friday night, I'm playing my rounds within the next two hours the vast majority of the time. Ideally, I would probably have better chances as a Watcher. But then again, there is the added stress of having to compete with others if you play your rounds later.

Did you feel the pinsets in the fourth round to be much more difficult than the third? The fourth was my worst round as well, but I simply thought I played worse.

What's this crack about wanting to become a watcher?
Firstly that's shameful been a watcher isn't something to be happy about
Secondly one doesn't simply chose to be a watcher it envolved either a genetic abnormality or at worst years of tutelage from a seasoned Watcher Mr Timmons been on of these said watchers.
Finally you should be ashamed to turn your back on the early shooters and call it a change of tactics!!
Wannabe watchers what next!!!

But then again, there is the added stress of having to compete with others if you play your rounds later. The only time I was a watcher (a little unintentional - work stuff) I found it way more difficult. All of the sudden there was the pressure knowing what I have to hit to make the cut. As the holes ticked by it was "I have to birdie 4 of the last 9"...then "I have to birdie 3 of the last 4". I didn't like that as much as just playing early on. I have started playing my 2 rounds and then taking a break. I feel like it lets me reset a bit. I used to crank all 4 on Friday night and would get mentally tired by the end of it.

You have no idea Andre, there is a special glossary for the web tour. Watcher, Lurker, Waiter, etc. It is just playful banter as the week goes on. Moe does a great report each week as the cut line approaches. It all just adds to the enjoyment of the community and the discussions here.
