I am a designing idiot, but bare with me here.
Someone can certainly correct me if I am wrong, and please do! I really don't know my way around the GNCD at all, so some of my terminology may be wrong or used in laymen terms.
Since the December update, I am under the impression that one is not nearly as locked in to a specific set of tools within one theme. What I mean is that you can start in one theme, but use "tools" or "objects" (I really am showing my lack of GNCD knowledge, sorry) from other themes. Is this true?
So where I am going is this.... For course defenses, sometimes wind is needed or would be desired by the designer. That is not an absolute by any means and I only put this out there for those that may want to use wind as one of their defenses.
The links theme I have found consistently has the highest average winds among all themes.
It is also known as a bland theme and is usually usurped by Highlands when wanting a links type feel.
But, is it now possible to start with a links theme, but lay everything out with tools, options, and brushes from the "other" themes? Would this work? Wouldn't it inherently have a higher likelihood of higher winds, with a feel of another setup?
Let me know if I am off on my thinking. I will go back to my playing of the wonderful courses made by the many designers. I just had this thought in my head since the other night when I played a links setup and then thought about the December update and what I thought was now available to designers.
