Got most of the holes roughly sketched into position again now and also added in the main bodies of water. Next step is to get in close and smooth out all the rough edges on the fairways, greens and bunkers to get them even more accurate in shape and nicely finished. (such a tedious job ) Then the fun can start to begin with the terrain sculpting. A friend thinks he has a course guide lying around somewhere which has green slope information in it from when he played there early this year......*fingers crossed Oh, if anyone is wondering why I have started laying the course down in the corner of the map rather than the middle it is because if this first 18 holes turns out well then I am thinking of adding the other two courses, The PGA National and The Derby, to the plot as well (at a later date) to create the full 54 hole resort. You must be insane but I love it. Can those 3 courses really all fit in that space? If so then that would be amazing. No pressure, but this RCR was near top of my list, very much looking forward to the end product

Progress is slow, fairway shaping is finished along with most of the greens and bunkers. Retaining wall on hole 10 is done and have started adding a few details to help with terrain elevations etc. The trees are going to be a pain as I could do with a mixture from various themes, ideal would be a mix of rustic and countryside (maybe a couple from highland too). Still struggling to get any decent info on the greens atm, however I have found some decent footage on YouTube to help with the rest of the course, A couple of random shots...

It was an incredible event (especially from a European perspective), not sure if the course has changed much but you'd get lots of putting references for the greens. I used it as a prop in my speech when bidding for uni golf captaincy as an example of why you should never give up

I think I have watched it before but I didn't own it until 5 mins ago when I bought it from Amazon with free Prime delivery so should have it by Saturday Hopefully I should be able to get a bit more idea about the greens from it. On another note I spoke to the Belfry on the phone today about trying to get some info on the greens, pin positions, ryder cup setup etc etc. I didn't get a lot of info off them (other than a course planner being sent to me in the post) but I did manage to get the direct email for the head greenkeeper who I was informed should be most helpful if I wished to contact him directly.
