EDITED
Event is live!
In Tours Section:
Season One Majors Revisited
Since Magnolia National Sunday pins is easily the most well known of all of the setups to choose from, I felt it should be in the event and wanted it to be the last round. This meant either going in reverse chronological order, or picking among the hardest setups. The latter provided me an opportunity to pick a different day of the week as I feel three of the four setups chosen were likely the most difficult of each particular Major.
So having said that, the event will be open for nine days. I published it within minutes of our normal Friday night event publishing time, but added an extra two days to get two full weekends in as this likely will be a busy week for many of us.
Live from (approx) 11:59 PM EST Friday Dec. 18th to (approx) 11:59 PM EST Sunday Dec. 27th
The order of play is as follows:
-University Links - Open Day 1 -Elmview Golf Club - Open Day 2 -Whistling Straits Sheboygan, Wisconsin (Saturday) -Magnolia National, Georgia (Sunday)

Sounds like a great idea, Bob! I know I'd love to play it. As far as the rounds go, I'd suggest this order: Sunday at Magnolia (you have to include the classic pins that everyone knows and loves), the hardest round at Elmview (it is the U.S. Open, after all), the easiest at University Links (third round--moving day), and the best overall at Whistling Straits (I don't remember the setups well enough to say which one that would be, though). Just my 2 cents.

We have a week off of the official TGCT tours the week of 12/20 to 12/26. I was thinking of putting together an event to look back on the four Majors from season one. I had two ways I thought to put this up. Chronological order.. Masters, U.S. Open, The Open, and PGA Championship OR Put up the toughest rounds... find the toughest Round 1 among the four, find the toughest Round 2 among the four, etc. Representing all four courses. What do you think? Good event or no?, and if so, which format do you like? As I love the majors I'd like to see all 16 rounds of them included. From masters straight thru to pga... but that's only my view... everyone else might not agree..You might need to put it to a vote! either way great idea!..

I have never played Elmview, so that one I am relying on others for. I have played Magnolia and I played the last two Majors as a non-qualifying member, so those two I do remember.
I will take all posts into consideration.

I know what you are saying and I like the idea, but I don't want to lose people over a 16 round event. It is a busy week for most IRL. Trying to balance that vs a nice little event. There will be other events in an off-week.

Was going to say you'd probably have more chance of seeing most people finish complete the tourney if it was a 4 round comp!..up to you I guess!..

I know The Open had a disconnect as PC and the consoles played R1 and R2 backwards to each othr. As I remember, the consoles had the hard setup in R1 and PC in R2... someone correct me if I am wrong.
I would like Magnolia Sunday pins to have the 4th round, but if a chronological order is preferred, I wouldn't be opposed to that, either.
The PGA, while still tough, was the easiest, and is the most open to a fill in for this event.

Personally, I prefer a chronological order, but it's hard to argue against finishing any event on the Sunday edition of Magnolia!

I will have this up late in the week, and I encourage more input.

Played it...loved it. Never played University Links before...that's a fantastic course. Tough! -37 overall after struggling in Round 1. Thanks Bob.

I wasn't eligible for The Masters, but I made the cut in every Major apart from The British Open this year. This was/is a great tourney to reflect upon those events and to ascertain whether or not you've improved as a player. I have been plodding along during Season II, nothing spectacular overall, some great rounds, some average. But I truly surprised myself in this tourney with how I played and scored, which lead me to the conclusion, I am getting better, but so is everyone else, lol.
-39 (-6, -10, -11, -12). I have never played well at Magnolia Lane, usually getting low 70s. The winds were tough, I played sensibly, but I lit up the back nine playing the last 7h in -8.

Been away for the holidays most of the week. Got in my rounds today. I was doing well until Magnolia came around. Really proud of my performance @ University Links and Whistling Straits. But I screwed the pooch @ Magnolia.
University Links Day 1 - 9 (61) par 70
Elmview Golf Club Day 2 - 8 (63) par 71
Whistling Straits (Saturday) -13 (59) par 72
Magnolia National (Sunday) - 3 (69) par 72
-33 total
