That was not a very exciting round. I played as well and as steady as I have played in a long time but the round lacked drama. The new patch has not changed anything with my swing but I guess it is that bit more forgiving. I still managed to hit two shots under 100 percent but just like pre patch, my fault for not completing my back swing. My winds varied through out the round which is something I liked. They averaged around 5 to 7 but did go up and down a little as the round progressed. You see how boring my round was, I am taking about swing and winds. Let me think of anything interesting. I had a birdie from a chip in, had a pretty good birdie from a bunker shot. Oh and on one hole, I clubbed up instead of down by mistake and went flying of the green instead of being near the hole. That's about it, the rest of the round was steady, I took my birdie chances when they came, and never really came close to a dropped shot. I finished on 63 which is my lowest score on tour in awhile. There will be a lot of low scores, the course is great for the challenge circuit, if any way accurate at all, there will be birdie chances. I know there is less of a chance of strong winds now but I do hope that every now and then we do get them, just to vary things up a bit, to give a little challenge. Some of the best rounds I have had was shooting par in a storm. Anyway, I am rambling now, maybe some drama tomorrow, have fun all.

The new patch has really sorted my swing issues out. Much more consistent, 100% nearly every shot and it showed with my scoring.
Final score was -40, which is just silly compared to last weeks -3 total.

Well, my stay up here at CC-B may be short lived, but I'll enjoy it anyway. The exemption was a bit unexpected. That said, after a mediocre first round 67, I shot a nifty 61 to be sitting at -16 thru 2 rounds. Now to score well in the final 2 rounds.

It will be very interesting to see how I do here on my first tour start. I'm a bit nervous seeing the scores everyone is putting up. I've never scored better than -6 ever and that was on my own course.
Feels weird to compete against players posting -40 after 4 rounds when I got here on a +14 or similar @ q-school

When I started, I was on the bottom tier and worked my way up over time. I have no doubt that you will see the same thing happen. Skull Valley is nothing like a q-school course and good scores are more than possible. Just have fun and I am sure you will be fine. We all felt nervous the first time we played on tour, hell, I still do. Tgctours adds so much to the game, there is something here for all levels and it won't be long before you see your scores improve and you find yourself at the right level for you. Good luck on your first tour event.

I was -5 after 7 and looking at a really good score. I went flat though and after 4 birdies in a row I had 4 pars. I then missed a 4 foot putt on the 12th (Went straight over the side of the whole!!) When birdies become hard to come by a bogey sets you way back. -4 after 12. I was so deflated, my round and tournament felt over. I only managed pars on 13 and 14, I was feeling sorry for myself. That was until I birdies the last 4 holes to finish on a respectable -8. Golf!!! You've got to love it and hate it in equal measures. Holes 1-7 and 15-18 I was -9, Holes 8-14 I was +1!!!!!!!
Hard to predict at this stage but I think we'll need around -28 to -32 for exemption. I need 3 more rounds like this to have a very good chance. If I play like I did 1-7 and 15-18 I might win ha ha!!!

Yesterday, I complained about lack of drama, remind me never to open my big mouth again! My front nine was terrible, it started ok, I was two under after four but then my game fell apart. I could not hit a good shot, I was slicing, hooking, leaving the ball short, oh and when I did have a birdie chance I lipped out. And why did I go for the green in two on the seventh, I'll tell you why, because I have a brain the size of a walnut. Lay up, and it's a easy birdie. I found the bunker, the ball was plugged so my third only reached the rough spilting the green. I overplayed my pitch, under played my chip and I was down to one under. One under for the front nine was not good enough. I know it was just one bogey but with low winds on a course where there are birdies to be had, it was like shooting myself in the foot. I was still one under after eleven and starting to fear the worst when I finally put a couple of birdies together which gave me some confidence back. I was still not playing great but at least the birdies were dropping. I picked up three more shots over the closing holes to finish six under. Over the past few weeks, I would have been jumping for joy with six under, this round I felt like I did not deserve it. I blame the patch myself, previously, I could say it was the broken swings fault, this week it was all down to me. So I blame the patch for fixing the swing issues and proving I am not always good at this game! All jokes aside, I think I got away with murder with six under and chances are, I won't again. I pushed my luck this time, improvement needed for tomorrow. Although, with demotion strikes cancelled this week, it does take some pressure off. Did I just say pressure about a computer game? Damn you tgctours for making this so good.

I usually end up between -3 and +3 regardless of course difficulty and wind. Will my play improve when I start taking it "more seriously" or not. Oh well, time will tell. Enough about me here. Look for me in the rough near a bunker! And thank you. That luck will be needed

Hard luck Dan, it's so much like real life golf competitions, you get sucked in so much.
