Another week of confusion. I played the tour by Doyley. Thought maybe I was in the wrong one because with strong winds there is still very low scores haha.

Ok all i hear is everyone that plays TGC wants the "Feel" of real golf as much as the game dev cant provide ... I think the Tour directors should be providing the same to it`s members and LOOKING at the course chosen for tour play. This week`s event @ Cuyahoga Golf Club is not all fair to all players as per PGA guide line as fair hole placements. "Factors Affecting Hole Location According to Rule 15-3, the most important factor when deciding where to place a hole is “good judgment in deciding what will give fair results.” The USGA also admonishes tournament officials not to be "tricky" when choosing hole locations. Toward those objectives, Rule 15-3 advises officials to examine the green’s design and to consider the type of approach shot required. Officials should consider the length of the likely approach shot and should allow sufficient putting distance around the hole. For example, the hole will typically be placed farther from the edge of the green when the expected approach shot requires a long iron rather than a more lofted club, according to PGA official Mickey Bradley. Weather conditions also are factored in. For example, greens will hold an approach better when they’re wet. More specifically, Rule 15-3(ii) recommends that holes should be placed "at least four paces from any edge of the putting green," and even farther if there's a sand trap near the edge or if the area surrounding the green's edge slopes downward.
The hole placements on this course at least for round one are a joke ,, this course is tough enough with small fairways over water shots and uphill downhill shot that it does NOT need silly hole placements that most on the front 9 seem to be 6-7ft away from the front fringe. and tour directors need to take note. Thanks

Thanks Shooting 50-under every week does not "feel" like real golf either - you will be getting the odd week with a really tough course. Cuyahoga will not be the last of it's type - but we'll space them out. Also PGA players can't max loft a 3i and have it come in like a 7i but we can. So it's nice to have courses resemble the real rules as much as possible (most weeks) but we will sneak in some tougher ones as well. If that's not your cup of tea it's always possible to cross-over and play the Euro event that week or vise versa.

Want to squish this dead: There is no rule of golf pertaining to pin placements. There is no such thing as an illegal pin placement. More detailed response here: tgctours.proboards.com/post/73036/thread

Again, if you don't like the course and you are on PGA and Euro, you always have the option to crossover and play the other tour for the week. Perks of being on the pro tours.

Causing people to purposely aim for the short side near the pin? I would love tucked pins near the fringe if chipping wasn't so damn easy in this game.

Say hello to Hole #4 That's 3 yards (9ft) Still i agree that the game needs to be more difficult than real life so pins will be even closer and we have to put up with it.

I think there's many different flavours of difficult and all will have a love/hate from our members. That being said, there were enough danger zones around some of the tucked pins that it wasn't a foolproof method of scoring well. Still a laundry list of US Open contest courses we're eyeing that are tougher than your average course. We'll keep sprinkling them in on the pro tours (and maybe web too if Luke likes one) to change it up. I'm sure we'll see a course with 18 turtle back greens, tucked pins and fairway runoffs soon enough

Hey all.
I just noticed this morning that there are 2 practice tours up with "TGC" in the name of the event and specifically for s2w5.
Please remember what Goats has asked all of us not to do.
