Then the points reset makes the last event a true championship with anyone in the top 5 in pts after the reset able to win it all with a win in the finale. Its not perfect, but it makes for excitement.

As the players originally complained, it is concievable for a player to win every single tournament during the year and finish second at the Tour championship thus NOT winning the "fed ex cup" points title.

Yeah it's more of an end of season cup race rather than a seasons long race. Race to Dubai is more of a seasons long race that rewards the best player of the year. Still, the fed ex is exciting as an end of season cup I guess.

They changed this back in 2008 or 2009 after Vijay Singh won 2 of the first 3 events and it left the fourth event moot since there was no one that could catch him.

Yeah, it definitely doesn't always reward the best player of the year. But what they're going for is a true North American sports playoff system where if you make the playoffs, anyone could win it, even if you've been mediocre all year. It is exciting at least.

I think I'd have less of a problem with it if they gave the reg season winner half of that $10million.
