Will you be penalized if you withdraw from a tourney you registered for before it begins?

Will you be penalized if you withdraw from a tourney you registered for before it begins? as long as you withdraw during the registration window - no penalty

Do you get a demotion strike for finishing near the bottom of a week too? I have picked up two strikes and I can only work out one of them as I was away and forgot to register

You do not get a strike if you don't register for an event - you do get a strike if you register but don't play.

I've been away for awhile, and just got back on. The last two tournaments there has not been a cut line (CC-C), is this the new norm? I scored so bad last week I didn't think I would make the cut, so didn't bother playing last two rounds. Just wanted a clear explanation, thanks ! Keep up the good work.

There are no cuts (and never have been) on the Challenge Circuit.

Could it be classed differently to people who just don't play as people could see my name in the league with two strikes and think I'm one of those people who register then don't play. Maybe there could be relegation strikes and demotion strikes? Also with these types of demotion strikes do you get relegated rather than the bad demotion strikes for not playing where you get a ban?

Guess you should think of it in terms of two different types of strikes Demotion strikes = 3 and get demoted down a flight (WD/DQ/70th or worse) DQ strikes = 2 and get 1 week suspension (WD/DQ only - we don't display these on the leaderboards but if you get one you'll have a warning on the main page of *** demotion strikes should be considered in the same way a baseball player strikes out - happens a lot, guys say nice try and get em next time. DQ strikes should be looked at as a yellow card in soccer - first one get a warning but get another and you've got to sit out for a game/week - but still can return after punishment with a clean slate

Have just submitted my first scores on the CC-B flight, as I was relegated from CC-A. No arguments there. However looking at my place on the leaderboard I see I already have a red x. This doesn't seem right to me.
The only thing that may be confusing the issue is that I played my previous round (Thousand Islands) on the first Saturday. I realised that I was about to be demoted, but on Monday when I went to submit my scores I was still registered for CC-A, and not CC-B as I expected. I submitted my score on CC-A as I assumed there was a time lag before the demotion kicked in. I was not in the top 70 for CC-A that week. Does that CC-A round count against me in CC-B even though I hadn't started.
I know this sounds very confusing, and if you tell me that the red x is valid, I will accept it. However I wondered if this was an anomoly.
