The first time around there was a problem with certain folks game when using ghost balls. The game would stutter and be unplayable. Supposedly all that is fixed. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Okay... apart from the ghost ball stutter problem, I thought they would fix the wind turning 180° occasionally, where some stupid dumb asses were wind waiting again? Oh boy, I better wait for an official statement before I freak out. Not sure on the swirling wind - will have to wait and see on that front.

Only way we'll see if it works is getting feedback from those playing the tournies.

11mph S for first round of Web 10mph E for 2nd. Just played rnd 1 and 1rst shot of 2nd round, and that is precisely the wind I had. Well it fluctuated from 10 to 12, and direction only a little.
I'm glad I never wind waited to much, I'm glad I never have used draw or fade to fight to the wind, this felt like any other round to me, actually even easier as the wind was generally the same for the whole round.
I like this fix a lot, I have played a few golf games, and HBS is the first to ever implement this. Many Kuddos to them for doing so. This is truly the greatest game ever in the history of all games IMHO.

I'm pretty new to TGC....can someone explain what's about this "Wind Update"? Thank you guys ^^ In the past, the wind in tournaments was a "live" system, so the wind would be constantly changing over the 7/8 days the tournament was open. As a result, people would face different conditions depending on when they played and some people would refuse to play in high winds and come back when it was quieter. With the new system, the winds are "set" for each tournament round so everyone will play in roughly the same conditions whenever they play their rounds, making everything a bit fairer. Hope that makes sense. And welcome!

I'm asking cause I practiced the courses for the Q-School during this week (4-5 rounds each) and found winds between 3 and 12 MpH. Then I got into the Tour Mode, and in the Q-School rounds all of a sudden the winds starts to blow between 16 and 23 MpH. And I even tried to start couple of courses minutes after I finished my rounds and again, outside of the Tour, they were below 10MpH. Are winds set on Tour/Tournament creation?

Tournament winds are randomly generated by the game. However, once generated, they will be nearly the same for each player no matter when they play their round. In other words, the person setting up the tournament does not determine winds.

Since neither in the Course Editor is possible to manually set a wind...I'm assuming that is not possibile to free practice in the wind I just have to start a course and hope there's wind to face Quite uncomfortable

Is the wind also the same across all 3 platforms if they are all set up at slightly different times?
