Well I beat my goal of -10 with a decent score of -14. I fought back after a terrible first round 75. Could have gotten to -20 but I couldn't make anything. Oh well it should be good enough to avoid a strike. On to the next!

A solid 71 for my first round but it was a strange round. I found it hard to hit the fairways (50%) but my GIR was decent (72.2%) I has so many birdie opportunities and so many putts miss by an inch or less!!! 31 putts in total! I 2 putted the first 9 holes and was +1. I went out of bounds on 10 from the tee but managed to bogey(Typically would have been a birdie and my first of the round). Surely my round was going to fall apart. I managed to steady the ship with par birdie par but then got more of an orthodox bogey on 14. +2 with 4 to play, not great! I got another birdie on 15 but my luck continued to desert me on 16, a hole I eagled on my last practice round. I had 245 to go, I had to go with a 5W but de-loft to get more roll. Unfortunately it caught the top of the bunker. 1 foot further and it would have been a good shot. I was thinking my chances of finishing top 70 were gone. Finally my luck changed as I managed to hole the shot from the bunker to record a much needed eagle. I finished with 2 solid pars. I have to be happy with that score, anything can happen here. Hopefully I can shoot straighter in my next round and make more putts.

I got worse the more I played. Just couldn't put anything together on this course for whatever reason. Several balls out of bounds that when I played practice rounds were finding the fairways. I think I carded a 10 on one hole and putting just never clicked. I was missing putts from within 4 feet. In round 1 I hit more bunkers than I had birdies which was frustrating considering it was low wind.

That's what I get for taking a couple of weeks off!

did not appreciate this course at all. visually it is extremely stunning, but beyond that i'm really confused how this was chosen for a tour event. the fairways are tiny which is fine but when you make the fairways extremely firm it becomes quite ignorant. i'd hit the fairway and the ball would bounce 20 yards and go out of bounds, which happened to be right on the edge of the fairway for some reason. the greens had red slopes within 5-6 feet of the hole. just really puzzled by this course. i understand having challenging events but this course was a bit ridiculous. definitely courses with better play ability than this one. just my opinion though i guess. had to vent a little bit

Just checked out the new hole-by-hole stats for this tourney.
At the time of this posting, hole #5 (the one that put me into "don't-give-a-damn-anymore" mode in the very first round), currently has more "doubles or worse" scores than bogey scores!
Currently, 31 "doubles or worse" versus 30 bogeys.
Why did I look at this...I'm supposed to have Hoodoo behind me and not think about it anymore! Looks like I need to schedule a 2nd massage at the Loa Pali Spa to get that Hoodoo Voodoo out of my head!

What a week. I had to finish 2 1/2 rounds to finish last night as going away. I didn't get started until 10:30PM and then , oh no an update to download! 90 odd % swings were back for me and I wasn't going to be finished until 1:30AM in the morning. Surely a recipe for disaster? Think again.
1st round 71 - struggled with swing and missed putts, solid!(Played in more normal conditions) 2nd round 68 - hit the ball well but missed some easy putts, two more under par rounds and I'll be happy 3rd round 64 - the most unusual round I've ever played. I don't have the stats but out of bounds on 9 looked to have ruined my round, back to Even. First ever TGCTours hole in 1 and hole-out eagle on a par 5 got me amazingly back to -4. I think I had 2 eagles, 1 double, 3 bogies, 9 birdies and 3 pars or something like that. 4th round 65 - after round 3 I was in an amazing mood. I had a cracking round but just couldn't get the putter going. I did have one long putt go in for me though. My iron play was the best it's ever been.
After practice round ranging from -4 to +14ish this was a huge surprise, add to that the circumstances it was pretty much a miracle. Winds were light but apart from that everything was against me.

This course is a JOKE. I was a yard into the deep rough on number 3 and was out of bounds. If youre going to make out of bounds at least make the user mark it so we know. This was not even an unplayable lie. So stupid. This course is a joke for sure. I'll be taking a DQ unfortunately.
