It's not really an issue.. just take the DQ if you can't play, and play the next event and it will be reset. :-) Thank you for the confirmation.

You should be able to withdraw now right? Yeah we can however I didn't chose to register for it and therefore if am unable to play I shouldnt get the DQ sanctions so plan to leave it as it is in case something happens and I am able to play. The important thing here I feel is I have not chosen to register for this event and whilst I recognise I can withdraw obviously that would be silly if there is a chance I could play But it will count - we're just saying don't miss two in a row and it's not an issue. Things are automated - we don't manually go in and say don't count this week against a person's DQ. So if you're not playing and if you think you might miss next week, I would sugest withdrawing. If you are planning on registering and playing the week following The Open Championship then there's nothing to worry about.

No worries chap, I was just making the point that I don't think it morally correct to penalise someone with a DQ when they never opted to register to the event in the first place and may have not unregistered Penalise people for regging and not showing but I think it's a bit harsh to penalise people who didn't even choose to register! And I know we can withdraw but thats not the point, it's the principle that a less regular member than myself may not have seen that he has been auto regged for it as no email has been sent out stating so, nor do I believe anything on main site indicating people have been automatically registered (I may be wrong there) However I appreciate your response and completely agree if it's not practical to do so. Perhaps a solution in future is to do what previous tourneys have done using the opt in/out page?

I think if you enter the qualifier then registration for the main even is implied. If you're top 120 then a form of signup might be a good idea. If 30 people from the top 120 can't play then that's a potential extra 30 qualifying places.
