I very much like the new Challenge Circuit system !
Including the stimulating danger of being demoted if not playing good enough ….
Though I have mixed feelings about the cut. It was a nice challenge which added some more suspense. With the new system there is no real reason to have cuts since there is the challenge to avoid three strikes …. BUT … for this to work properly, I think not finishing a tournament should count as strike. You stated as rule: “If you finish outside the Top 70 in your flight for an event (and you played all 4 rounds), you will be assessed a strike.”
So if playing three bad rounds a player simply could skip the last round to avoid the strike !!??

I like. Or maybe a half strike at the very least to be a bit lenient on those where real life did actually get in the way.

For me, someone who plays a round, but does not finish finishes behind all that complete 4 rounds. Likely (but not universally), this would place them outside the top 70. It would take care of itself then.

I'm not opposed to a half strike system, though. Something, though.

I really like the idea(s) to be honest. There does certainly need to be a consideration for this, but I think a suitable answer has already been thrown in for consideration! Anyone who finishes the 4 rounds, finds themselves above anyone who has registered, and doesn't..... sounds good to me - that way they flirt with the Strikes anyway. I don't remember seeing it anywhere, but it sounds like the sort of thing they'd have considered - I'd imagine now the cuts have gone, the MCs would be Replaced with DQs if scores aren't submitted by the deadlines? I dunno. Doesn't quite seem right that someone could post only 3 rounds, but because they were unreal rounds - still stand a chance of winning a Tournament?

There's no way they would win the tournament. The question is more about if they can be demoted. The announcement stated -
Finish outside top-70 and you earn a strike (must complete all 4 rounds)
At the moment if you don't complete a round it doesn't count as a strike but you won't be placed in the tournament.
New rules were put in place last month to help with withdrawals. 1. Your first DQ, you get a warning email, stating if you are DQed again, you will have to sit out a week. 2. On your 2nd DQ, you will be prevented from entering for a week and get an email. If you already signed up for the next week, you will be auto-withdrawn. 3. Once you serve your penalty, your slate will be wiped clean and you will be able to miss two again before a penalty.
So finish in outside the top 70 you get a strike, 3 and you're demoted Don't complete your rounds twice and you sit out a week.
I can see people who don't want demotion not completing rounds where they think they might be outside the top 70. What is the official stance on preventing this happening? Maybe the fact that they will miss tournaments will be enough to prevent this. I'm not sure.

Less than 4 rounds should be a strike. And that includes not playing any rounds. Granted some will get busy and just can't make it but then they should go to admin and explain it. Harsh but it gets less people posting E with no scores.

The more I think about it the more I think they should get a strike. They can wipe the slate clean with a top 40(?) the next week anyway.

Will there be a list or at least a visual icon by a person's name for each strike they have?

If you don't finish all 4 rounds that would place you outside of the 70 mark, should be counted the same as a strike. Having the option to opt out before the start of the tournament should be enough leeway to avoid strikes.

Having the option to opt out before the start of the tournament should be enough leeway to avoid strikes. This seems an option I would consider. Say you register a week and a half or so ahead of time like I do, and then during the lead up or even the week of, you find that life says you can't play, then you can opt out. This would have the caveat that you do not post any scores to TGCT OR posting any score on your respective console or PC... This would have the Tournament Marshals and staff having to check, though.
