Excited to finally come back to the TGCTours with a new game. This iteration really lost me with how easy the settings ended up turning into.

This says FY Q4, so August - September time frame next year As was mentioned above, Take Two's fiscal year is a bit odd, and their Q4 2025 is January-March 2025. Also, from the link I posted: “So for Q4, yes, you’re right, we have [Civilization] seven releasing,” Take-Two Interactive CFO Lainie Goldstein said in a response to a question about bookings growth for FY Q4 2025. “We also have our PGA title releasing in the quarter and our WWE title. And last year, we only had our WWE title.”WWE 2K24 was released in March 2024. And Civ 7 is coming out in February 2025.

Interesting.... this is the first tangible news I've read on the next title. I would imagine it would by January before we see any preview or press material on it. I'm curious to see where they got with it though.

I would expect a pre-Christmas announcements so they can use the holiday season to pre-purchase as a stocking stuffer.

If you are interested we have a discord with a few societies that play on legend swing with no aids or grids. discord.gg/wCNpmjr6If you want to get some practice in before the new game.

I would be very interested to know if any of the TGC Tours staff has had contact with 2K as to whether or not the ongoing agreements to allow access to the game's data will be supported in future releases. This is critical to the implementation of the cross-play nature of TGC Tours in that the weather conditions are made the same regardless of platform for all of the TGC Tours societies. Also, the minimal but necessary cheat prevention that TGC Tours implements depends 100% on access to this data. Then there is the wealth of data about scoring etc. that TGC Tours brings us every week. A new game is what we all need. I think we are bored sh**l*ss with this version. But, lacking access to the behind-the-scenes data, TGC Tours goes away. Even if 2K does allow access, there is no guarantee that significant programming will not be needed to adapt the site to the new data format. A new game engine will almost certainly cause big changes to TGC Tours.

I know absolutely nothing about the upcoming game, but I have a gut feeling that cross-platform societies will be a new feature in PGA 2K25. No clue what that would mean for TGCTours, but the fact that there'd still be a website, a course review procedure, forums, etc. gives me the thought that TGCTours would still be around. As for a new engine...again I have no insight, but all the 2K sports games this year have come out for last-gen systems, so I'd imagine PGA 2K25 would do the same - and to me, that means we'd still be on the same engine. Would love to be wrong, as the visuals for 2K golf really need improving IMO.
