I'll be posting here to provide updates on my entry for the Stadium Championship Design Challenge -- Rosedale NationalSome (tentative) inspiration: The true part: - Glen Abbey GC in Oakville, ON, designed by Jack Nicklaus, was intended as Canadian Augusta National of sorts, and has hosted the Canadian Open ~30 times. - Glen Abbey GC is being redeveloped in part as housing, and will no longer be able to host future Canadian Opens. The fiction: - A wealthy investor seeks to build the next Canadian Open mainstay, but this time, no Nicklaus, and the course will embody the stadium golf experience, while maintaining the "Augusta of the North" moniker. This means: - A location in the heart of the City (Toronto); - Lots of elevation change; - No heavy rough; - Large, lightning-fast greens, surrounded by amphitheater seating; - Lots of water, but only in logical, natural places (no Rees Jones ponds); and, - Wide fairways that reward playing up the "correct" side.
- In order to find such a site, the investor identified an existing golf course in the Rosedale neighbourhood in Toronto, a locale known for its history, wealth, and prestige. - The investor purchased the site and got to work razing it from 1 to 18, leaving only the meandering Mud Creek and as many large elm, maple and oak trees as possible. He also left an abandoned vehicle bridge over the Mud Creek valley, intending to repurpose it into a footbridge to serve the signature hole crossing the valley.
More to come...

I found routing to be really difficult on this plot shape for whatever reason-- I didn't end up using the edges very much, just on a few holes

1st hole Par 5 - Drive over Mud Creek; - Severely uphill approach to deep green with large false front; - Two bunkers guard right pin locations - approach must come from left side; - Fairway funnels drives to the right side, which is a worse angle to most pins;
