Dear TST enthusiasts,
Like the IRL PGA Tour, it's time for us to travel to Arizona. We'll have some wind, fast(ish) greens, water (don't pull your drive if you go for the green on 17), a stadium hole, desert: Scottsdale! This HB/2K official course is probably one of their best and provides lots of scoring opportunities but also lots of opportunities to throw away shots - play smart!
Have fun and good luck, Frans

Love this course but never play it well.
This time I manage two rounds under par, -2 and -4, to feel better about this week after the debacle last week.
Onward!

I hate HB official courses! It's like they put cellophane over half the cups 🤬 level par and -3 first two rounds

Thought it was a bad omen to put my approach to six feet on the first hole of round 1 - and then three-putt for a bogey. But I recovered ok, rounds of -2 and -5 to sit at -7 going into the weekend.
Never going to complain about being under par in True Sim.

Would love to hear more people's perspectives... I like them for the challenge during big tournaments. I struggled putting with the quicker, slopy greens but it feels more life-like when I'm not hitting every putt. For me, the biggest change was going to the 155 greens after a few weeks slower. I just couldn't dial in my speed or lines after 2 practice rounds and 4 for the tournament. Now if I could erase the back to back red fast approaches into the water on 11 for a quad bogey in round 3...

R1: -1 R2: -2 R3: +1 R4: E
Tot: -2
My target is 11 missed putts per round with only a couple three putts throughout the tournament. I missed 50 putts and had a double splash on 11 in round three when I red fasted back to back approaches into the water. Those 6 putts and 4 throw away strokes would have put me at a really nice -12. The greens were really tough with equal amounts of what looked like a break being flat then underestimating the more constant breaks. For the most part, I was getting close to the pin then 2 putting with only a couple of (bad) three putts where I completely blew the weight or slammed my stick way to the left. I also love playing this course but can never put together a consistent 4 rounds of putting. Started going fast on my pitches which seems to negate any head wind effects and put me in tough putts for birdie/par. I don't think I have ever been consistently fast in pitches going back to 2k21 so that was an unexpected thing to fight this week.

Just like the Venerable Vandelay, I really like this course in particular and certainly there are others which are also very decent (cough not Pebble). You are somewhat hamstrung with many of the best RCR Lidar courses not submitted to the database. I do like to play the course you know from the TV or very expensive real life rounds. Also like Art Vandelay I seem to reserve particular excellence in the field of shooting myself in the foot for Scottsdale. Nothing dropped in round one except the approach to the fifteenth which plopped in the water. Ended up +3, how the former Top Dog had fallen. Round two was solid graft to -5 after sixteen, where a birdie roused the drunken crowd. Two trips to the water on seventeen meant there was no coming back from that. Plus two at the halfway point and only the chance to take money off the worst winner/loser in the game on Friday evening to keep me going.

Oops forgot to report my rounds this week. Obviously over excited by the prospect of Maidstone United in the 5th Round of the FA Cup.
I really enjoy the course despite my score not attesting to that.
2 under after 72 holes of never doing quite the right thing at the right time!

Well then. 4 promo marks out of 4 in Talents flight has pushed me into the Top Dog table. Imagine that only like a month and a half ago...
-6, -5 for -11 at halftime. Decent amount of good saves for pars, felt like as I went on I started remembering more and more of this courses pins and how much they're breaking. Too bad I still couldn't make more putts but certainly helped survive with less dropped shots.
Had a neat 96.7 yard sharp shot from the light rough find a way into the hole on 10th in round 1 for eagle. Only a few holes before on the 6th, had flopped in a shot from about 23 yards and from heavy rough square in the center cup for birdie. 2 eagles, 3 birdies, 1 bogey. For how little scoring action my R1 had, it sure had a lot of stuff in it! Gonna need to stay off trouble and get some good things going if I wish to push my run in Top Dogs to be a bit longer.
EDIT to say: I don't mind official courses too much, this one especially. There are some I don't really wanna see in the schedule from playing those in previous seasons, but it's mostly individual courses. I play whatever's given.
Cheers, good luck!

I would just like to offer a public apology for my behaviour on the 16th green in Round Three.
It was the result of the frustrations built up over the previous fifteen holes. Five bogies from missed short putts saw the score heading in entirely the wrong direction. A solitary birdie on thirteen did little to lighten my mood. Woohoo!! clear the water that has caused issues all week on fifteen, pin high in the bunker. I holed the third bunker shot for a par and the controller had a short test flight. When I sank the curly fifteen footer on sixteen the drunken fans demanded that I drop my strides. Caught up in the moment I obliged, and for this I am deeply apologetic.
The Tour should really ban me or something from Round Four. No seriously it would be great for my mental well being. I would not have to drag my sorry, now recovered, ass round this lovely course.
