Dear TST enthusiasts, It's a new dawn It's a new day It's a new life for me, yeah It's a new dawn It's a new day It's a new life for me, ooh And I'm feeling good This week we start our road to the Tour Championship with the Champions Tournament with our new (and old) custom Master swing difficulty! I fondly remember the days that I could play Kapalua Plantation as a course available in the Links series... No such luck in PGA2k23 (or should I already leave the PGA part out? ) but... I can take you to a course with similar dramatic elevation changes, with similar big and slopy greens, with similar waste areas right next to wide fairways and created by the same architects and lovers of old-style golf courses - Coore and Crenshaw. Therefore, I'm taking you to Ozarks National Golf Course; a beautiful challenge that will show you guys that Master doesn't necessarily mean auto-pilot... To help you enjoy our switch (back) to Master even more, I WILL make sure to create flights; you need to complete three tournaments to be assigned to a flight and depending on participation numbers we will have two or three flight, with promo and demo marks and the works. More details will follow in the next few weeks. To ensure the road to the Tour Championship is filled with drama, I WILL also create a ranking based on your results as of this week and this ranking will determine starting positions/strokes for the Tour Championship. Spread the word and make sure to have fun! Best wishes, Frans

Glad to be back, same old fun, love the course choice, same atrocious putting.
If I wasn't so ham fisted on the green I'd be dangerous.
7 under after 2 (-5 and -2) but it should have been so much better but after a long lay off I'll take simply being under par for now.
Onward as Golden Balls says.

Let's see whether I still know how to play fairways & greens golf, despite my swing plane now being an insult to swing planes my dreadful putting.. Round 1: -4 (after being -7 at some point) Round 2: -1 (double bogey out of nowhere on 17) Halfway: -5 (swing plane not nearly as bad as usual but putting was just too bad to score decently)

So what's a gawlfer to do when they just got home from hols and want to ease back into the game? Play TST of course! Played way better than expected. Thoroughly enjoyed the course (definite Kap Plant vibe, thanks fransslabak) and the switch back in swing type. Rd 1 a couple of Humphs but -8 is pretty darn good for me! Rd 2 and a few more Humphs but still enjoyed the -4 stroll. Onward!

Finished the week off. Putting is destroying me. Seeing breaks that aren't there and missing breaks that are. Hopefully it will improve as I go along. Been a bit of a lay off but nice to be back making up the numbers!

Seems like I've played this course a few times recently. I would start with "good to be back, good to be back, hello, hello", but that Seventies anthem doesn't seem so popular anymore. First TST rounds for a few months and it was like I'd never been away. Misjudging my line and driving through the corner of the fairway into heavy rough, taking the green out of range, same thing same hole both rounds. Not being able to stop tee shots on the long downhill par-3 and facing huge uphill cab rides (again both rounds). Several minuscule putts blasted past. Green reading was mostly guesswork. I bloody loved it. Before the dalliance with other difficulty I enjoyed TST most of all each week. Personally, it works as hard enough to challenge me whilst not driving all of the fun from a game I can't pack in. Nice to be level with the great SkyBlueBen and for us to be just a couple better than our illustrious scheduler fransslabak . Frans was telling me recently about his controller collection and he reminded me of a bloke I worked with who found his reading eyesight failing (we could substitute swing plane here). Rather than go to an optician he bought a series of ready reader glasses from petrol stations and discount shops. In the end he was stacking three different pairs to read his diary. All well and good until the sun's rays were focused through his lenses, setting fire to the diary on his desk and causing the sprinklers to deploy in the car showroom. Back for more later.

-3, -4 start for -7 at half.
Enjoying this again, or getting less frustrated during rounds because a shot I hit just slightly off isn't 50 yards shorter and going massively one way or the other. While I'm still spraying shots around and putting like someone who knows how not to, being closer on where I'm aiming at helps a ton. It's as if I remember what I'm actually doing again... at times.
Off to take a few days away from the game to charge up my head again because I've felt way off playing this game, and get the last rounds done afterwards. Cheers, good luck.

That was a lovely course. I always struggle with those big elevation changes especially in wind so it was a bit of a mental arithmetic session a couple of days ago.
I’ve been farting about on this game again since the weekend and I think I’m just going to limit myself to the legend TS societies. Absolutely the right call on your part Frans for the tour but it’s just not the gameplay I enjoy anymore. Thanks again for trying out legend and have a good season everyone, and Happy New Year all.

I probably championed for it too much over here but to me legend all aids turned off is just a fantastic way to play this game. I agree with Craig wholeheartedly that it's the right thing to do for TST to go back. TST is TGCTours niche tour why make it even more niche, it needs to be a tour that appeals to those that want to dip into no grids rather than a proper hardcore sim tour that has a real challenge. Not really what we envisioned when RGT joined TGCTours , it's a bit like Kool and the Gang losing their Jazz roots, go with the flow and adjust if you want more people to enjoy your thang😉. I would of given it the full on TST season if we stuck to legend even though I hate marker only but like others who can't bump up the difficulty for a harder challenge no way do I want to make the game easier by dropping back down a difficulty, I just like Craig just can't go back to master difficulty because I find it really boring. Good luck to those that enjoy it, but to those that did really enjoy legend sim there are a few really good societies out there. Happy New Year and best wishes to everyone.

Was just getting used to the marker being on playing legend but dropping down to master is making it too easy for some of the top boys who love to play with the Vibration tool and with marker helping them with partials and putting , so totally unfair in my eyes . May drop in now & again . Good luck out there boys and girls and remember aim for par golf and enjoy .

Rd 3 level Rd 4 lost the plot +3 Still pleased as punch with a -9 finish. Really glad TST has returned to this format, more fitting for the masses. Hopefully the word gets out and those that missed TST come back and newbies give it a chance. Onward!

How is the vibration tool allowed? Can I get a vibrating putter for my real life rounds so I can never over/under hit a putt again and break 80 every week?

How is the vibration tool allowed? Can I get a vibrating putter for my real life rounds so I can never over/under hit a putt again and break 80 every week? We cannot ban it because it’s not part of the difficulty settings - let’s hope for that option in future iterations of this game.
