To all TAN players: very best wishes for 2024 and may all your shots be true and straight ! My first round of the year @ Furness Old Links started with a bang as i collected my first Ace in 2024!! and was looking at a real nice score were it not for the 10th green where I blew a gasket and had to give it all away.. Anyway, a mixed bag of emotions on this otherwise nice links. Sigh...

Great Ace from Charles to start the year and a shame about the 5 putt on 10 to spoil a very nice round from him. I 3 putted the hole from the same spot on the green, but the rest of my putting was pretty damn good with medium 100% and long 37.5% stats, nice to finish the round with a 30 foot eagle puttΒ . My long game still feels a bit patchy so need to work on it, I did do a 5 minute warm up on the driving range but maybe it wouldn't hurt me to have a practice round now and again but can't really complain about a 62 on this really nice links course.

Excellent round there Mr Hammer! You were cruisin' and that putter worked good. Beautiful score. Dont forget that chip-in eagle on 4 too! That thick gorse planting all over the place is definitely in play on this short course as we both found ourselves in it and your pretty much hitting totally blind shots out that stuff. Other then some small designing flaws here and there (some slanted tee boxes and loose fencing) this little course does well. Good thing the wind was not up because then this course would have some sharp teeth . Thx for posting. Always nice to see some of it back LOL!

TAN-86
We are happy to announce that TGCtours has included TAN in their list of selected tours and will assist in promotion for our society. TAN remains a separate community-run tour event but with the help of the TGCtours crew more people will become aware of our niche tour for the Elite players at the highest playing level in PGA2K23. We thank the TGCtours for their support! Meanwhile, things are heating up on TAN as we come ever closer to the end of our start-up 2023 season which will end with TAN#92. TAN#86 landed in southern Norway @ Gamle Fredrikstad Golfklubb where a beautiful open parkland course (a Anders Mathisen design) was the place for the TAN crew to continue its challenges at the highest True-Sim level to bag points for the boards. We greet a TAN veteran in Tuffguts! who picks up his 8th TAN crown and 1.000 points with a terrific net 69/-3 score for a net win and a move to 5th place on the season net leaderboard. Congratulations! Outright second place is claimed by Puffypops (who is also closing in on the season leaderboard on 5th place) and third place is shared by InfamousEddieC and Mr Longpolex, also in the top section of the season leaderboard. As a matter of fact, InfamousEddieC is making a true charge for first place closing in on season leader Weltybeast! Congratulations to all as it is really coming down to the final stretch to see who will come on top in TAN's start-up season. Right now, the scratch leaderboard is a 'shadow competition' because we just started this board recently, but obviously the big TAN guns shine through there also, with -again- Tuffguts coming on top!! Also, the scratch leaderboard is the place where we greet new players on TAN as everybody has immediate access to the TAN competition there. This time 4 brand new players gave it a try at the highest level and welcome to TAN all! Keep at it. Practice makes (almost) perfect and the more you play the better you will get. Results @ Gamle Fredrikstad Golfklubb:Non hcp players gross scores:Coolhip807: 78 (+6)** Jroc387: 84 (+12)* ChipsforAces: 85 (+13)* ElectableMule6: 86 (+14)* After 4**** tournaments you will receive your TAN handicap and also be included on the handicapped leaderboards. Indeed, looks like people are picking it up again at the Elite level. TGCtours' TAN-promotion helps. We are gunning for a regular field of around 30 to 35 players but that could be to passive a number as we have a registered memberlist of 83 players of which 55 have a TAN handicap. And we are getting an influx of new players too now.

I'll keep an eye on the new members and if they play next I'll add them to the xbox chat as that's where I send the tables and write ups , for people who can't get on forums .

TAN-87
TAN is getting more traction again with a excellent field of 25 Elite players teeing it up for the closing tournaments in the fall/winter schedule. It looks like TAN is the place to be for the best of the best and everybody who wants to play the game at the purest level without the in-game aids. Ever more TAN players who strayed a/o moved off course are coming back to our society. Great to see! TAN landed on a nice little links course set in Scotland, Furness Old Links, a design by Andy Manson, which yielded some terrific scores. Not so surprisingly as the weather was calm and so the course was receptive for those players who could zero-in at the top of their game. And so it was, as Puffypops picked up his third TAN crown! scoring a terrific net 61 9 under par winning score, pocketing 1.000 points on the board and moving into 4th place on the season leaderboard . Great playing Puffy and congratulations. Close behind for second place 'our very own' Hammers1man, carding a impressive net 62 for 850 points. Way to go Hammer! A 5-man strong group battled for third place with Hendomedes, DonkeyPuncherBen, Bova Kian, RD-Rooster and Charles and noting 750 points each. The scratch leaderboard was sizzling, as the TAN Topguns came down on the course with a vengeance to card rare sub-60! rounds with Horusphoenix and Hendomedes bringing it in with 58's to take first place. DonkeyPuncherBen landed it right behind with a 59. WOW! Even though Furness Old Links might have been a bit defenceless, these scores remain impressive indeed! Great results gentlemen! A pity nobody filmed himself so we mere mortals could watch this back in the replay. In fact, this is a call-up to TAN's elite players: post those scorching vids when you are killing it for all to see!! On the season hcp leaderboard Weltybeast remains at the top, but danger is lurking right behind him as more players are climbing the ladder and are now within grabbing distance! All to play for gents! Results @ Furness Old Links: Non hcp players gross scores:
Tskaggs2: 65 (-5)* ChipsforAces: 73 (+3)** ElectableMule6: 71 (+1)** After 4**** tournaments you will receive your TAN handicap and also be included on the handicapped leaderboards. NEXT: TAN-88: @ Rembrandt Park
