Yeah, I'm with you on this one. In some ways I'm disappointed to be missing this week's tournament even though it looks a brute in places. I much prefer courses requiring a bit of thought rather than the drive, pitch/ wedge, putt for birdie and have -18 missing cuts. Finished off round 1 last night, bit up and down and ended up at even par. Hopefully I can go a few under at least in the second round and get through. It's a good challenge though, I don't think I'd complain about having more of this type of challenging course as the season goes on. In some ways I feel like I can be more competitive, if I get on a tear could easily make plenty of birdies.

Well if I could putt from a bit of distance I could have made something happen... oh and many moments of "oh this shot could be good" and then watch it roll off or make a putt way longer... and awful greens hit percentage... and I guess everything by this point.
+2, -4 for -2, missed cut. Likely taking one step closer to being out of here, making it 2 steps out of 5. Couldn't get going at all, hard to when you're off on everything and you have a course that allows none of that. Off to next week.
Cheers, good luck.

Sheesh, 5 holes playing over par including 16, 17 and 18. That's a tough finish!

I watched the real Andalucia Masters event last week, and in this version opened up with a 63. Stupid bogey on the last hole but hopefully can do a bit better in the next round and make it through.

-19 after the second round so after last week's missed cut I'll have a chance to get up the leaderboard over the next couple

So after a T2 finish a few weeks ago and after missing last week's event as a result of being on a sunbed, I teed up for this week.
I'd played a few society tournaments over the weekend to try and get some rhythm back and it's funny how not playing the game for 10 days or so can see you misreading putts that you'd otherwise make and the distance control with the irons being off.
My first round was an absolute disaster. A throw back to last season and the type of round I thought I'd stopped playing. Three bogeys, missed putts, poor approach play for -5. From the depths of despair in round 1 to one of my best rounds of the new season in round 2. It all clicked again. Great approach play, some great putts made for -13 and a two round score of -18. Should make the cut after thinking I'd be in the demo zone. Here's hoping for a decent round 3 & 4...

E, -10 for no prizes for guessing where I stand after 2 rounds.
Couldn't hit or putt worth a damn in round 1. Then I could hit some shots in round 2, had a very fast internet cutoff mid-round which could maybe explain why every round I had played so far was awful.
Think that's 2 red markers to push me into potential demotion territory next week. One more and it's out. And again, have to claw back from 4 down like last season to have any hopes to stay here. But then again, when you barely make cuts and the best you can do is be midfield at best, is this really the place for me at all?
Will do what I can to try to knock off the inevitable some more. Cheers, good luck.

Looking at the leaderboard with a few hours to go, I made the decision I'm safe at -18 and decided to play round three.
Had a really weak start. Multiple pars and couldn't get anything going on the front nine. A real opportunity missed I thought before stringing together a few birdies and then getting on a run to post a 59 and sit at -30 after 3. Honestly, I don't know where it came from. Never really felt truly happy with the swing buy found a few greens and rolled in the putts.
Wasn't sure the luck would last going into round 4, so I'll play this later in the week and hope for similar fortune...

Got to -27 after 3 rounds with another 63. Struggled to get anything going much in this round, although it wasn't helped by putts breaking weirdly against the beads. Final round today, hopefully will finish strong.

Played my first two rounds last night knowing that -17 looked like the mark. I thought the first round was tricky. It seemed like every time I took a couple of steps forward I then took one back. 3 bogeys in total, the last one on 16 which put me back to -5 meant I was struggling a little. But then I had a golden 3 holes which completely changed the complexion. Hit a beauty in to 16 and holed the putt for an eagle 2, chipped in on 18 for a birdie, and then chipped in again on 1 in R2 for another eagle 2. Played well from there, including some very useful par saves and another eagle on 10, which I bogeyed in the first round. 63,57 for -22 and T8 before the leaderboard reveal for R3. Away with you, Doyley kiss!!
Really enjoyed the course and conditions, a lot of fun and a decent challenge. I was a tiny bit critical of some of the course selections after I got here last season. 5/5 this season have been really good. If you're going to criticise don't forget to praise! These greens on 186 are wicked! Love it.

Finished up at -37 which after opening up with a -5 I should be delighted with really especially after making the cut from that point looked slim. However I'm really disappointed with that finish. Could get nothing going and my approach play was nothing like good enough. Anyway, onto next week to see what that brings.

I was running out of time so had to play after our Friday alt shot at 1am last night after a few too many beers. What could go wrong? Fell asleep in the heavy rough somewhere on the back 9 in R4, woke up at 6am to a very loud alarm that I had no clue where it was coming from. Woke up the wife and kids, not popular. Eventually figured out it was my radio and yanked the plug out. Finished my round. Not pretty. Amazingly in the middle of all that carnage managed an ace on 16 🤣
On to next week with a clean slate and hopefully a bit more time.

Well, I brain farted last week. Was playing all sorts of other rounds but somehow forgot to play my Elite rounds before the cut. Went ahead and played them anyways on Friday and shot -45, which would have been good for T-11. I think I need to set alerts to make sure I don't miss deadlines. Was also T-12 in the promo event - probably not good enough to go straight to Platinum, but that's fine. I need more consistency before I can realistically expect to compete in Platinum.
Already played my first two rounds for this week. -19 through 2 should be an easy cut made, as the course isn't easy and R2 VF greens will be a challenge for many.

-4 first round this week. Probably would have been -6 if these muppets would fix the bloody drop rules when going into water. I hit the second shot on 18 into the water on the right and thanks to this stupid back on the line of the pin drop being the only option I had to rehit from the same spot. Ridiculous.

-9 at the cut so another miss, more demo’s. Really struggling here. Not made a cut this season so it’s pretty miserable having only 2 rounds count each week. A demotion would probably be a blessing.
