Hi all,
As announced when I published Estate Heights, I created a spin-off version to host a pro tournament. Somehow inspired by John Deere Classic, this one names "E.H. Investments Classic".
<little fantasy story> E.H. in the name does not mean Estate Heights, but stand for Enoch Hornwood , chairman of E.H. Investments, a company which builds golf and estate resorts. Each resort have a name with E.H. as initials, for example "Eternal Harmony" or "Elegant Harbour". Estate Heights is the first of the series and a beloved place for E.H. </little fantasy story>
Now, the course has been changed for this pro venue with a different holes order making the last holes drama closer to the club-house. As you see below, the routing start at the regular 5th hole, turning left to go on the regular finishing sequence which ends now at the 6th. A little to go up and down and the real drama starts at the 11th (regular 6th), par 5 reduced to a long par 4, tempting the player to boom a drive past the bunkers to get the extra length due to the downhill slope. A little rest with the 12th (regular 1st) and the final sequence begins with the 13th downhill par 3 toward the water, then the long uphill 14th to reach the regular 4th par 5, now the 15th long par 4. This one is a true test : the drive form an advanced askew tee is not menacing, but the fairway shrinks as the distance grows. The 2nd shot is the real test, very long to a narrow complex green surrounded by trees. This typical 3-shot par 5 green is not designed to welcome long shots with its many tiers. Par is a good score there. Next, the 16th offers a true birdie opportunity with even a shorter tee tempting the players to drive the green on the last round. Par here is a loosed point. The 17th (regular 8th) is a downhill over water long par 3 which can destroy any hopes of glory. There again, playing for par, is the wise choice.
Finally, the course ends on the regular 9th with its fairway lined with the right lake and left trees. The large green gives a wide arena to welcome the crowd for the last drama.
The different tees have been set to fit pins and conditions, so I give bellow a chart to preconize the setting for a 4 round tournament :
I hope this can make a fun an challenging tournament or just come and enjoy this different E.H. routing.
