1. can you design a course without using light rough ? i see lot of greens just use heavy rough . 2. are there any 9 hole design compertions for newbies? 3. best theme to learn on to design from easiest - hardest. 4. how many bunkers minimum should a 9 hole or 18 hole couses have ?
any advice be much welcomed .thank you .

Yes, there are plenty of courses in the game that do not use light rough at all. 2. Not that I am aware of, but there is the "Design League" here...the contests are 6 holes, and there are several guidelines that must be followed for each event. Here's the one that's going on now: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/34051/design-league-4-contest-53. Honestly, there isn't an "easy" or "hard" ranking of themes...they all pretty much work the same. The only things that separate the themes are that some have odd glitches (like Highlands defaults the firmness to "Soft" no matter what you set it to when designing), and others generally just look better and have more interest to them (it seems that Delta is one of the more popular ones). 4. It's hard to say...some courses that people have made in this game have no bunkers at all, while others seem to have hundreds and hundreds of bunkers. There really is no set minimum or maximum...it all depends on the course you're looking to build.
