What were the winds SUPPOSED to be in your mind. I don't think you can set your winds in tournies nor can you set a range, so I'm imagining it will be based on the luck of the draw when you publish them. 16mph head wind on one is a guarantee at least two par 4 holes you can't reach in 2. If it ends up being the same for everyone, so what? I'm curious if it IS the same. I published the tourney about 28 hours ago. I'm wondering if the others published at the same time have the same winds.

If they have exactly the same name then the winds will be the same.

yes, each tourney is different but each round WITHIN that tourney is the same. You can't predict it.

I'm struggling in my practice rounds here. Seems like I'm short of the green bouncing back into a trap, or hitting below the hole and bouncing/rolling to the back fringe or rough. I don't know how you hold the greens on about half the holes. I'm chipping 14 of the 18 holes. How are others shooting so low?

I was like you when I first played it and thought that it was ruined by the fact that the great layout had greens that couldn't hold most of the approaches and then I thought to myself that Reebdoog is a great designer and surely couldn't be the case so I went back in and slowly looked at the greens in great detail before playing and I noticed that on most holes there is a gentle upslope to pitch your ball into that will take enough out of the forward bounce and with the average speed of the greens the ball does come to rest. There are a few holes that there is no way of getting inside say 20ft or so with the 2nd being one of them but that's ok as you shouldn't be able to play a perfect shot and be beside the hole everytime...... It's really well made and just take your time and you will see the shots that should be made. Just take the Pin Seeking Goggles off at first glance

yeah, every green can be held. If you want to pin seek you can...but you're going to have to land in the rough on some holes to do it.
Best way to hold some greens is to work the ball left or right and use the slope.
If you are VERY downwind there are sometimes you won't hold a few (hole 6 with a tailwind is BRUTAL)

What kind of winds did you have Jules? Low 2-6mph Yeah, I've scored well with low winds on the course. When the winds reach 10-12, my average is probably -4, and when winds are 15+, my average is about even.

Yeah this weeks tourney winds could be anything so its going to fun to see what we get. Really hoping for 10+ winds in all rounds. If we could keep it to -20 or worse would be sweet. Really like the more realistic scores although hard to do and keep the entire population happy at the same time.

Yeah il be honest although iv probly played the front nine 20 times i think iv only completed a round 2/3 times without rage quitting lol. I think south facing wind is the best from what iv seen.

I rarely work the ball, so maybe that's one of the reasons I'm having more trouble. And a lot of greens I do hit the ball feeds away from the hole. Just a tougher course for my playstyle. I'm not the best iron player v most, but make 90% of my putts inside 20ft to make up for it. I can't get inside 20ft here. I'm guessing I'm 2 rounds and out unless I can magically get the longer clubs working
