Has anyone tried this controller on PS5? It sounds like it's not a huge improvement over the stock controllers but might still be a small one. I was thinking that if it's a tiny improvement it still might be the type of thing that saves me 2 strokes over 72 holes. For that I might invest for next season, but I'm also a right thumb on the left stick player and I think the left stick is positioned differently and I would really need to rework all of my mechanics to get used to it.

I've also taken the plunge and bought the Razer Wolverine v2. It has a nice feel and I'm enjoying the increased stability, but my problem isn't with consistent slows, it is fasts that I'm struggling with. My drives are okay, but if I play my iron shots with a similar swing tempo then they tend to pull left. I've calibrated a number of times, but as is often the case what happens on the driving range does not seem to get replicated in a society round. I'll keep practicing though and see if I can get more consistency. It definitely holds some promise. It might be your sing line, even the line it is mostly in the white I tend to get this result if the very bottom or top of my swing line is at 6:10 or 11:50 on an imaginary clock face

I've not used it on PlayStation 5 but I've used both the Wolverine on Xbox and the normal PlayStation 5 controller and they are identical in performance in my experience. The big jump over the stock Xbox controller is because of the lower polling rate on the Xbox pad. As the PlayStation controller is already better in this regard there's no real benefit to switching to the wolverine. Unless you prefer the feel of it in your hand etc. obviously!

Compairing the Dual Sense 5 and the Razer Wolverine V2 on PC. The Razer controller has quite a bit more swing stick sensitivity. You have to swing faster also than the DS5. That faster swing stick speed definitely makes my tempo more consistent. As a right thumb player I can switch between all controllers comfortably.

If your playing this game on PS5 and thinking of trying a wolverine my question is why? Look at the data for the tour in general people score better on PS5 with the stock controller than either of the other systems. Look at the WGR the top is dominated by PS players as are the three pro tours. CC-A when I was in it I could generally get top 30 overall on Xbox, if you broke it down by platform it would shake out something like top 10 against Xbox, top 10 against PC but maybe top 25 against PS.

I concur with lessangster. I played on a friends Ps5 for a fortnight while he was away and found a considerable difference between the Ps5 and my Xbox, almost to the point where i was thinking of trading it in, but it would of meant starting from scratch again in the game. I bought the wolverine after coming across this thread and it certainly made a difference for me especially with tempo but it's not a magical controller. It gave me the confidence to have a crack at the tours and was lucky enough to go straight into the Kinetic tour after getting my card. As has been mentioned take a look at the top 20 in the rankings. You have a few on steam, you have 2 amazing xbox players, SubtleBees and horusphoenix, and the rest are all playstation players. So save your money, stick with your playstation set-up, and rest assured you have the best console and controller to improve at this game.

When I was in CC-A trying to climb up the tours there were always more PS players ahead of me than the other two platforms combined some as many as 3 times the amount. I’ve always thought promotions should be given by platform say top 5 on each platform that week gain a promo mark but that’s a thought that won’t go down to well with PS players in my opinion.

I must admit, i had a tough time handing back the PS5 to my mate when he got back from his holidays. Unfortunately he wasn't interested in swapping for my xbox x

The main reason why is because I saw the top XBox players in the Touch As Nails Society outperforming the PS5 players to a great extent than I did in the USE society. I like to play legend swing and it is more influenced by minor variations in swing path or tempo than the other settings, so if those guys are outperforming maybe their setup is more conducive to success on those settings. Regarding your point about how many of the top players are on PS5, that's because PS has been superior to XBox by quite a bit since at least TGC 2019 and most serious players switched, it says nothing about the relative performance of a new controller that is only available in the last season

I know myself, Horus, Longpole etc have never used vibration, aiming marker at all, and Horus and I have been having true sim legend swing matchplay rounds for a laugh for about two years now since way back on 21. There's no real adaptation needed or adjustment at all and I think that's shown in the scoring. That said, it's very hard to get the absolute top ranked players on the tours on other platforms to try difficult settings. So who's to know how they would shoot if they tried it, maybe they would dominate. Horus and Subtlebees seem to be the two highest ranked guys trying it out. But the razor is still a massive help over the stock Xbox controller there. It's night and day difference from it. As is the PlayStation controller in my experience. I got my razer for £45 on Amazon on sale. Stick it on your watchlist and grab one to try it out when it's on sale. Edit: I just realised your name and that you're a USE mainstay so you're probably used to no marker as well. But yeah we've always had a ts legend society floating about on Xbox in 21 even so it might be familiarity with legend difficulty.

@hammers1man is probably the best guy to listen to Ben just seeing your point about the difference in swing plane in particular on legend. I think he pretty much only plays legend and used both controllers extensively on PC. I think I'm right in saying he prefers the razer because it allows him to swing a bit quicker but that they're similar in terms of swingplane.
I play well in TAN in spite of my swingplane fwiw 🤣

You should see some of my swing planes way outside the grey area tempo affects direction more than that in my opinion

Honestly I have the feeling if you're offline a tiny bit or a massive bit it doesn't make *that much* difference in terms of dispersion. Seems that way at least. If I'm a hair right of centre or a mile right of centre there's maybe only five yards difference in how far right the push is.

I’m currently setting my irons with timing fittings you lose distance of course and a little swing plane but my irons are reasonably straight now any dispersion is caused by fast or slow swings rather than swing plane. I’m using Rhythm archetype and my timing is at +33 above the normal for that archetype

This past season I was good enough with the DualSense that my good weeks were near the edge of the top 10 and my bad weeks were the edge of the cutline on Platinum. The difference between those two outcomes usually came down to whether I was having a good week with my stick mechanics. Even if the difference in controller is not always noticeable a slight improvement of like 2 strokes over 72 holes might be the difference between getting a green mark rather than a top 20 so I thought maybe it's worth the experiment, tinkering with equipment just like I would with fittings.
I've never been a guy who tried to read up too much on polling points or wired vs wireless or these other things but this offseason might be a good opportunity to optimize set up.
