#1 tee again
#1 green again
#2 green again
#3 tee. A medium length par 3 with plenty of bunkers and interesting slopes on the greens. If the pin isn't tucked, you can get after this hole.
#4 tee. A left to right tee shot with bunkers on both sides make this very difficult to find the fairway on this par 5. The smart play is a fairway metal short of the bunkers and then a layup. IF you do find the fairway, this hole is still not set up to go for in 2 without some big penalties.
#4 green. Here you can see the trees on the right that make this green touch to reach in 2. A pin on the left side creates plenty of fear because of it sloping away to the pond. Take your 3 shots smartly into the green and you can make birdie.
#5 approach. #5 is a beautiful tee shot that requires about 255 yards off the regular tee to carry the stream. The tees moved back could make this one a BEAST. An approach shot to an elevated green with plenty of room and forgiveness in the back surprisingly makes this one of the easiest par 4's on the course.
#6 tee. This medium par 3 features a massive green with plenty of slope and room. You shouldn't struggle finding the green, but you have to hit a perfect shot to hit it on the right tier.
#7 fairway. An undulated fairway with massive wild grasses on the left make this a great looker (while a bit glitchy).
#7 green. A look back at the beautiful fairway and narrow green on 7. Par is a solid score here and the approach distance needs to be perfect to be close for the most part.
#8 fairway. A great par 5 that features a tough tee shot due to a fairway bunker in the landing area. Go right of the bunker and you're stuck with trees in the way of the green and must layup. Under the right winds, you can carry it and have a fun 2nd shot into a green that runs towards the pond with a huge slope from back to front. Land your approach short and left and you could have a special shot.
#9 tee. One of the most beautiful tee shots on the course with a fairway that sits in a small valley. Plenty of room down the middle, but a little left to right and you'll be sitting in a bunker into a long uphill second shot.
#10 tee. A slight left to right tee shot over some thick bushes make this a cool looking hole. Hitting the fairway is a must or you'll be taking three shots to get there.
#10 green. A look back at the landing area on 10 green. With a front pin location, you'll need to land your long iron short to run up if you want to be anywhere near the pin. One of the hardest greens to hit on the course.
#11 tee. Possibly the signature hole at Ridenour. A short par 3 that has a bit of a #12 at Augusta look to it. An elevated green with a huge dropoff and false front make this hole a potential disaster for people pin seeking. Vegetation not done around the green.
#12 fairway. The shortest par 5 on the course features a left to right tee shot with plenty of fairway bunkers to find. A fairway means you'll easily be able to go for the green in 2, so take advantage of it.
#12 green. This is one of the most undulated greens on the course. Middle and back right pin locations will very favorable to people going for it in 2 who can run it up. The front pin location is right above a huge slope off to the bunker and must be played with caution from players hitting flops and wedges for their third shots.
#13 tee. The hardest hole at Ridenour imo. A missed fairway is a guaranteed 3 shot hole unless you get a great lie and want to risk your round. The fairway is one of the easiest to hit on the course though.
#13 fairway/green. This picture also features 14 tee. The only island green on the course is extremely difficult. The green features three tiers from right to left. The right tier is the easiest with plenty of room on the left, back, and right funneling into the hole. The middle tier has the most support on the back so you can't run through the island into the water. The left tier is a plateau and requires a perfect shot to be within 15 feet and putting. Good luck...
#14 tee. The shortest par 4 on the course will feature a front tee in tourney play that will allow a reachable tee shot, but on this tee, it gives players a huge decision. A driver will bring into play the massive amount of fairway bunkers but will also give the player a simple pitch shot if executed. Otherwise, the smart play is a 5 wood short of the bunkers that gives a 9 iron/pitching wedge into a blind green.
#14 fairway/green. Here you see all of the bunkers and the downhill shot into the green. There are some tough pin locations that make this hole a little tougher than it may seem. Still a great birdie chance after the tough holes of 10,11, and 13.
#15 tee. The longest hole on the course runs up to Stone Lake put has a pretty easy fairway to hit. You better use that opportunity because a bad tee shot will make this hole realllllly long.
#15 green. Looking back on the hole shows the stream that comes out of the lake and winds through a lot of the holes on the front nine. Players will need a solid Driver/3 wood combo to carry that stream in 2. A huge false front runs down into the fairway for people getting overly aggressive with a front pin location.
So there are the first 15 holes I've finished. Again, I'll still add some trees and vegetation in some areas and will also be clearing out a lot of the random auto generated rocks and grasses in areas as well.
I'm really planning on this being a tournament style setup for a pretty big event with multiple pins if all goes as planned. People shouldn't shoot very low here but it's fair.
Please let me know what you think and feel free to play my nine hole beta and give me feedback. This is my first time.
Thanks!
