We’re trying to not talk too loudly to prevent this thread exploding…

I might actually make a cut this week, after getting completely frustrated with it last week and not even bothering to finish the second round.

I might actually make a cut this week, after getting completely frustrated with it last week and not even bothering to finish the second round. I played one practice round so far and found it to be challenging. I shot 6 under but that was lucky. I'll need about 5 more practice rounds and some help from above to either make the cut line or miss demos.

Whatever you do... do not hit it over the hill onto the beach on 18, this week, lol. In my third practice round attempt, I did that and ended up taking a 9!

I'll just take over all the posting in this thread for awhile. I went back in and did two more practice rounds. Finished at 5 under and 10 under par. IMO you have to hit specific shots and set ups. Coming out of CC it was much easier to just hit whatever and blast it. Here you have to set up a 3 iron or a 3 wood off the tee. Other times you need to hit the perfect 100 to 102 power shot with full backspin applied. And we all know that if you miss a shot like that, you're in the muck. For instance, the first par 5 on this course you have to hit a perfect tee shot and perhaps overpower it. And for my clubs I needed a perfectly placed 3 wood, with full backspin. If you hit it flush, you will have a great eagle chance and most likely a tap in for bird. And we're not even getting into those difficult pins on the par 3s. So yeah, after my 5th or 6th practice round, I was able to keep the card clean and score low enough but that will be a challenge to replicate. I counted about 10 to 11 perfect shots that I need around the course to be in position to score. And that doesn't include the many tricky partial shots that you need to make off the tee. That's my experience anyways, you might be able to just blast and do whatever because you have plenty of experience on these types of setups.

My problem is my controller. It needs replacing after the dog somewhat ruined the right stick. It still works but the chew marks make it feel strange and I really have to work to keep the plane as straight as possible, it's worse on putts which is more annoying.
I have two spares, but they're useless as well. One of them the swing plane looks like someone who's had about a hundred beers is swinging it, no matter what I do it's scrambled terribly all over the place. The other one is fine for plane, but my natural tempo hits everything with a black fast, even after calibrating it, so I have to make an uncomfortably slow downswing, and I'd rather not get used to that only to have to revert again later. I'll get a new one soon, and in the meantime maybe take a break from the tours after this week to avoid getting demoted back down.

Getting the hang of it. Shot 12 under in my last practice round. Now I just have to prove it officially. I never know if the Over Par or Under Par Player will show up but got to at least try.

6 Under Par in my Elite debut. Made a nice little bogey on 17 to muck up my clean card. Could have been worse. Looking forward to round 2. The shorter tees and low wind might be able to help me at least avoid demo marks.
EDIT: I thought I could at least post a ten under par in round 2 but it just wasn't meant to be. I ended up with a 5 under to bring me to 11 under for the first two rounds. Now the only question is one or two red arrows?

-10, -9 to crack open a new era of Elite golf for me. Made cut first time asking this time! What a tough course this is and requires so much patience but thank god I hung on long enough to remain bogey free... was starting to feel a wall by the middle and past that of round 2!

Shot a ridiculous 17 under par 55 in the final round to move from 42 or something up to T7 at the time of writing. 20 putts certainly helped 🤣
