Is there any advantage to this? I have the old game, just never designed in it before.

Also, I think that PC designers have more in the way of keyboard shortcuts in 2K21. I think there are quite a few people who do their course plotting and routing in 2K21, then finish their planting and detail work in 2K23, since the trees are much different in the new game, and there are things like the fence spline tool available, which was not in 2K21.

Thanks @sroel908, so more of a PC advantage than a console advantage? I'm on PS5.

Thanks @sroel908, so more of a PC advantage than a console advantage? I'm on PS5. I'm on console (PS4), as well. I also think the designer, both in 2K21 and 2K23 runs faster on PC than on PS4, but I think it might run pretty fast on the next gen consoles. So that's not a huge advantage there. But yes, I think it ends up being more of an advantage for PC users to stick with 2K21, because they have access to the keyboard shortcuts and the designer itself is more stable in 2K21.

Oh man, I'm a web designer/developer by trade so keyboard shortcuts are a huge part of what I do for a living. Wish I had them in this game. Makes working so much faster.

I would stick to 2K21 if you are starting a project because of the bunker glitch thatt still isn't fixed......only port when you are ready to do planting.I am on PS5 as well.

I played arcticfury's Daisy Village,Denmark a week ago that he ported over from 2K21 to 2K23. He had all of these red buildings. He made those with colored canvas. Something we can no longer do with 2K23, because they only allow green, so there are other, real reasons, to design in 2K21.

I don't know. I haven't actually built anything in 2K21. I popped 2K21 open after playing Daisy Village and saw the various colors of the canvas sections. That said, I'm seeing unrecognizable assets in the current Ash Meadows, Blue course that I haven't seen in 2K23.

I might be wrong but I believe you can extend plots using a trick in 2k21 but can’t in 2k23.
If that carries over if you publish before planting in 2k21 then that would be another good reason to start a course in 2k21 if it’s a big plot

I can confirm the extended plot carries over into ‘23 from ‘21. GeneCreemers , I’ve done a fair bit of web work over the years and I can’t live without keyboard shortcuts.

Such a sad state of a game that you need to go back to a previous version to design because of major flaws in 2k23's designer.

I'm thinking about do exactly this because the current 2K23 designer has crashed 7 times on my PC in the past two days and never the same triggering event. This is telling me that they are fiddling with something on their end which is causing these crashes. Honestly, I might blame my Alienware computer if it weren't for the fact that I play Bioshock and the Civilization franchise and all of that is 2K games that aren't having any issues.

When I'm working and I have to watch other people work, it's painful to see them not use key commands and to see how long it takes them to do simple things. Without key commands, there's no way I'd be able to game all day and manage to do all my work too .

Extended plot brought over from '21, showing the distance from the 1st tee to the 18th green.
