Charles Banks (Nicknamed Steam Shovel), a former school teacher was the man carrying on the tradition established by C.B. Macdonald and furthered by his protégé, Seth Raynor. Tragically, Banks career was abruptly terminated an early age when he passed away the year Forsgate opened in 1931. While Raynor received his due the same can’t be said for Banks. His stint without Raynor was brief (1926 – 1931). Forsgate is a rare exception of a quality design. ‘Big’ designs that lack strategic interest or unimaginative greens are little more than a bomber’s paradise. Banks saw to it that his courses were much more and this is one of the last of his courses that hasn’t been touched, it’s VERY unique! Par 71, 3 Tees, 6,919 yards, Greens 10.2/152, Tips: Stay in the fairway and below the pin. Big thanks to mctrees02 for the HUGE assist on this course, we used a technique he shared with me to re-claim some green surfaces and fairways. Psalm 50:23

Psalm 50:23 Saw you post the technique on FB, very useful! I’m currently doing Huntercombe in England which is a 100 year old+ Willie Park Jr course and I’m convinced they’ve lost a load of the greens due to mowing. I’m tempted to just reclaim them as even though it’s an RCR, I just think it would be a better course to play in the game, particularly as Park Jr was focusing on ground game with his design. I know mctrees02 is a big fan of this course too!

Great work once again! Loved the greens here and the environment is well captured. It's too bad we can all bomb 300+ yard drives with ease in this game, as it kind of reduces the variation in approach shots here. But that's a product of the game, and is not at all a negative on the work you've done.
Thanks for another fantastic RCR addition!

sroel908 .... Thanks so much, it was a team effort w/Mctrees. I agree, I wish we had an option as designer to limit a club's distance percentage to say like 90% or 100% so more Golden Age or a lot of UK courses would be done ... my list of "want to do' courses is pretty long. paddyjk19 .... Man that course checks some of my interest boxes, I loves me some grass bunkers, that course is loaded with them (13 Sand, 100+ Grass). Interesting course choice and it looks like on 15 there was a quarry there at one time. I'm excited to see what you wave your magic designer wand and come up with, it ought to be awesome! I got the last one “Burgandy” - was expecting it to be something different like all the others but that’s a common word in Europe 🤣
