YouTube has quite a few videos and explanations from people much better than me!

Doyley: What do you mean by "Don't forget to use the fittings and stat points you accrue while playing. "?
How can I adjust that setting, where to find it?

As you play rounds, you will be awarded fittings and skill points. I think you get 1 skill point per player level up to 50, which is the max level. Attach the fittings to clubs in the locker area and add the skill points to your player in the player area.

I went +14 for round 1 last week and didnβt return
Got some good advice in here, updated the in game skills and other things using the xp.
Hit practise range for hours, probably 6 in total. Thatβs alot for me. Got very little improvement even though I forced myself to stick to it.
Fired up the qualifying rounds and went +9 for front 9. Dumped ps4 and heading to bed.
This is not a pity post or one asking for additional help, for me the game is broken, I count my swing to be consistent yet the results are far from that and it simply canβt be that erratic. Something else is at play, and thatβs cool I really should have done what I said I was going to do and not buy it when it got cheap.
Itβs a shame. It was a good franchise at some point. Adios.

I know some will scoff at this, but using vibration was the difference maker for me. It wasn't a huge difference maker on full shots/pitches/chips. But without vibration, I'd never be able to putt. I still don't have it down to an exact science yet, but getting there.

It looks like all of the swing advice is aimed at folks using controllers.
Can anyone suggest some tips for players who push a mouse? Any YouTube videos you would recommend?
I am finding tempo and rhythm to be the most difficult skill to master and, with the mouse swing, I average several strokes under par with a Legends swing in 2K21. So I understand the frustration expressed by some who think the swing is broken in 2K23. My best round so far with 2K23 has been even par, which I have shot only once; my average score is around +7 for a round. And I am not going to attempt qualifying until I can average at least even par.
Thanks for reading.

I decided I needed to do some research, so I searched YouTube for some video tips. There are not many videos for the mouse swing, so I did not find much that was that helpful. So I opened the game and began to experiment at the range, and I may have found something that is helpful at least with a consistent path. Timing/tempo remains a bit of a challenge, but I will practice this method for a while to see if it pays dividends. I am playing with the Master Swing. If anyone else who plays with the mouse swing uses this shorter backswing method, I would be interested in your experience with it. Below is a video that documents my practice this evening. I apologize for the inconsistent audio, but I think you can get the gist of what I say. clipchamp.com/watch/m1eXo7M8VGi

I watched the video - one thing I would point out - you are overswinging every single time. This really penalizes you when you are not very straight or not having a very good tempo. Watch your video to see how much the "sweet spot" shrinks. I try hard not to swing past 101 (I believe at 102 the shrinking starts) so a miss-swing isn't as big of a deal. Now that very severe fast is not going to be saved by this.
Regarding the forward swing, it is a very quick movement (about 0.1 seconds) and so a perceived same forward swing can be twice as long (0.2 seconds) and still feel very similar. Twice as long gives you a the worst possible slow. Nothing to be done about this except build excellent muscle memory, but it shows the margin for error is very thin. For those of us 50+, that is challenging!
Good luck!!

Thanks for your response! Yeah, I'm not paying much attention to the top of the swing which can help in judging the length and power of the shot. I think that I can sense the tempo a little better at this point by focusing on my swing path as I move the mouse. But I understand your point. And being one score and four years past the age you mentioned does make it challenging. But, hey, I'd rather be playing and trying to improve than not playing.

For those using the vibration I get why and I know some can't play without it, but seriously there are many of us for who that is the first thing we turned off! It's so distracting. I think I had it on for the first week in this game to get a feel for the partial shots around the green but then turned it off. I just think in a game where you have to concentrate on a few different things to get a good swing, adding more in to the mix makes it harder! First thing I turned off on the really fun ranked matches was that stupid great swing meter too!
This game is hard on these settings. You have to embrace that and roll with the punches. Ignore the guys finishing on -50, most of us are mortals. If you are consistently getting bad results with your method then change the method. It's surprising how many ways there are to move a stick up and down on a controller!

There are quite a lot of mechanics to getting anything near a reliable swing while using a mouse.
1 β My stock Logitech mouse was fine with 2K21, but ridiculous with 2K23. I upgraded to a Razer Basilisk. You don't need to necessarily use the same mouse. You just need one that comes with a clickable toggle that allows for changing the speed of the mouse tracking with a click. This one has five settings and I found that the fourth setting was money-ish. Anything slower resulted in me getting lots of slows, while the fifth setting gets me lots of fasts. 2 β Practice. I found a rhythm that works. I pull back as if I'm going to swing, letting my avatar go to the maximum backswing. Then I slowly move the mouse forward until he comes to a rest at addressing the ball. Then I pull it back again and continue with the swing. Then, once I was comfortable... 3 β Calibrate. I went for around 500 hours in this game only twice ever hitting a perfect (once on a splash, once on a pitch). Now, if I concentrate and not get lazy, I hit a lot of perfects with nearly every shot type. I say nearly every because putts don't register slow, fast or perfect.
Good luck.

I'm still using my Logitech mouse. Just played my first Q rounds and shot -4, ... I think.
We'll see if that was good enough.

Thanks for that. Iβve actually done none of them as they confuse me. Any guide or tips on them somewhere? Appreciate the help all. This is a good video - helped me understand the fittings and skills a lot better: After watching that, playing a bunch of practice rounds and actually using the fittings I've acquired, it made a big difference in my game. I actually shot a +1 in the 2nd round (really proud of that considering my earlier scores). I also learned an important lesson - I need to practice putting badly. I messed up 4 possible birdie puts as a result.
