I tried many times to qualify, but the "Master" setup is too much for me. I play a bit better with the Pro setup, but I can't change it from master.
After so many attempts, I can't make the cuts.
If, one day, I do manage to qualify and get the basic tour card, what is the setup used to play for entry levels? Is it Master, Pro or Pro-Am?
Please tell me know that it's not master, otherwise, I'll simply delete my account with TGC... 'cause unless I improve dramatically, I'll never want to play master again! π

Anyone knows if a beginners' circuit plays on Master or Pro or Pro-Am?

Hi peterpan8, All tours here are Master level.

Itβs hard isnβt it. I rage quit my qualifying attempt this week too. I have no idea how people are -16 in round 1 with the swing results I get.
Iβve even changed to doing totally random swings to find some kind of variance and nothing.
Someone want to DM me the secret cos clearly there is a way. It canβt just be that I donβt swing consistently, the game isnβt that technical.

Same here. I've checked YouTube so-called tutorials to learn how to swing, but no one seems to have "the" solution. I also look at people shooting below -18 for one round, and getting something like -50 or -60 for four rounds. I'm quite certain some are using a trick or some sort of mechanical "helper" with their controller.
One thing I know is that for those who are playing on PC (or Mac), it's (very) easy to trick the system if you know how to use AutoHotkey to program the movement of your mouse. π
If, like Doyley wrote, all tours from beginners up, are using Master levels, then I'm out of here. It's not really fun to just try to get a Tour card when all you can shoot is always below the cut-line. My best one round score was +7, then +15 for 2nd round... With that kind of scores, I don't even try to play round 3 and 4.
ππππ©π’π in that order!

In a previous post, someone mentions "upcoming CC-Pro event". Does that mean that those events play on Pro level, and not Master?
Please say yessss! π₯΄

Make sure you have vibration on. It is key without the meter.
Practice at the range. Just focus on keeping your back swing and forward swing as straight as possible.
Practice.
Then work on tempo.
Practice.
Avoid pitch shots where possible to begin with.
Percentages. Try to play to par. Aim at the middle of the green.
Practice.
Practice a bit more.
Once you can go reliably around Even youβll get in.
Did I mention practice?
There is no βsecretβ. There are various ways to swing, one thumb / two fingers / two thumbs. I changed from one thumb to two fingers in 2K23.
Everyone has to find what works for them.
Then maybe a bit of practice.

It really is just practice finding your swing plane and tempo. I joined TGCT in early 2k21 and entered into the Qualifying tournament having never played Master swing. Shot, predictably, in the low-to-high 80s in all four rounds. Got in at CC-H, and missed three consecutive cuts to start my career. By the end of the season I had promoted to Platinum.

Iβm comfortable with the swing line, it seems tempo is the problem. I never use pitch at the moment, avoid splash too at this point.
Vibrate is on, if I feel it have I gone too far as a rule?

Vibration is around the point you put your arrow. So if the marker is at max, if you try and swing it beyond that, you will be overpowering (into 101%, 102%). Whilst this isn't a problem if you hit good path and tempo, it makes a massive difference if you miss. And if you seriously overpower, your path and target get smaller.
So feeling the vibration isn't going too far but you can't hang about swinging when you feel it.
For tempo - the back swing speed does not affect the shot. So try slowing it down or speeding it up because it will affect the speed of your forward / downswing (personally, a pretty slow backswing works for me and prevents fasts).
Use the training range and just nail the path and tempo.
I'm far from being a good player on this game but shoot under par and got on the tour by doing what I've explained.
Good luck with it.

All very good tips! Thanks guys! I'll get back to the drawing board, and try to follow some ideas!
And who knows I may get the Tour card by.... 2024! π

Don't forget to use the fittings and stat points you accrue while playing. This game is the hardest straight out of the box - as you level up and add fittings it only gets more forgiving.

Play as rhythm archetype to get help with swing path and tempo. The higher they are, the more forgiving it is.
Skills are a bit of a mystery to me to be honest. I put ones that looked helpful to me on and havenβt visited it since. Things like timing and power boosts.
Fittings are very helpful but you have to pay to swap them around, so you canβt just keep swapping and changing to experiment. This can get very pricey with irons! Timing and swing path will help with hitting the ball more consistently.
Essentially there are trade-offs. More power means less control (poorer path / timing).
Iβd suggest starting with fittings that boost timing and swing path. Then as you get more comfortable, start swapping in a bit of power. Youβre better off being able to control the ball rather than hitting it 15 yards further but in the rough all the time.
With Rhythm archetype and fittings I have Timing and Swing path in the 90s on all of my clubs except driver, which is in the 80s to give a bit more power.
Hope that makes some sense.
Good luck.
