Not a good start. +9, +4. No feel for the greens. Fine course, just bad play on my part. Onward! Played better (-2 and level) to close out the week. BTW Congrats to Pen Pen Knight on winning Hogan last week, well done sir! Onward!

Round 1: -8 Round 2: -7 Round 3: E Aaaaaaaaarrrggghhhhj!!!!* * was a few holes into round 3 and then noticed my distances on wedges were off… then, to my disgust, noticed my wedges had different distances than they’re supposed to have… Excited the round and looked at my bag… One of the fittings on my wedges had disappeared!!! Just, without me doing anything. WTF??? Anyway, cannot get my wedges back to how they were - angry - went back into the round but shouldn’t have… Pffff, this game is sooo maddening sometimes. Thinking all fittings were online based like skills. I reinstalled Windows 11 about a month back. Installed the game and lost about 60% of my fittings which were pretty good across the club range. Managed to get my putter, woods and wedges up to a good standard. But a month later all my irons including stupidly PW which is a wedge not an iron are limited to a crappy grey head fitting and a bog standard green shaft fitting. My fitting rewards are awful now all low stats hybrid or putting fittings, forgot what a purple fitting reward arter a round looks like. Not that I dislike the challenge of iron play in the game without fittings. As far as I'm aware, fittings that you own are server side and fittings that are equipped are local. As to fittings just randomly being unequipped, my only guess is that the fitting was exchanged while equipped to a club and the server did some sort of sync and *poof*. Purely speculation on that last part though.

Well, errr, not well, I can tell you... Seriously though, I love this game but man oh man it is sooo full of bugs.

It's possible to exchange fittings that are equipped and have them stay on the club which in reality it shouldn't.

If nothing else I always get variety in TST. My first couple of rounds were littered with putting errors, including the life-force draining three-putt from 5 feet. At least nowadays most of these dropped shots are balanced by shots picked up when I can read the greens or hit it close. A couple over seemed about right at the half way point given how I'd played.
I had a horror show finish to my CC rounds and decided to just get TST done in case this was the week I would finally throw the game in the bin. A quick calibration to try to find some end to overly punitive slows which seem to be my only gift from Season Two so far, yeah right, like I need a flamingo putter. Somewhere, there is a gaping wound in the space-time continuum. Round three was pretty much blemish free and an unheard of 16.7ft proximity stat allowed for a -7 round.
When the ball is rolling, just keep kicking it long and hard, they say. Straight back out and it was even better. A score of -9 to take me to an almost unprecedented -14 for the week. Well that's another week I will not smash my controller or uninstall the game.
Good fortune to those who will sail by my score and have faith if you won't as sometimes it just goes right.

I did a couple of practice rounds for the round 3 conditions and shot -5 and -7. Tempo and Swing felt really good so I figured why not? I'll tell you why not! Because when I went into round 3 officially things started out great with birdie, birdie to put me at 8 under. A bunch of pars after that and Hole Number Seven happened. Instead of either hitting the green, the apron or just over the green, as per my usual, this time, I shanked it into the Ravine. Some more shanks later and I was lucky to make a long putt for double bogey. Anyways... all downhill from there and I had the fasts, the slows and or whatever else kind of yips you could think of. I'm pretty sure it was sabotage from either the 2K servers or the TGC Society that I was connected to. No way in H E Double Hockey Sticks it was me! I ended up doubling some other hole like 14 or 16 or some stupid hole like that. Lucky to finish the round at Even Par and 6 under for the tournament. I'm so POed that I just want to go into round 4 and blast it. Maybe I will and maybe I won't... you can't make me. Only I can decide.

Yeah... it's an obvious conspiracy. Anyways, the Final Round my connection to the interwebs felt much stronger. I can't really blame any conspiracy on this round. I'm starting to really hate this game. I went birdie, bogie so many times I forgot to count until I double bogied one of the holes. I don't need the stress of this game in my life. Or maybe I do? I got it to 8 under par twice in this round only to get knocked back down again. Good Song. I get knocked down but I get up again... dee dee duh duh. Oh yeah, where was I? Oh I got it back to 8 under after 17 but I shanked my tee shot on 18 after I told myself: "Do Not put this ball in the rough". Yeah , I put it in the rough. And I missed the chip and missed the putt and bogied the hole. 7 Under for the tournament. I'm very happy with 7 under but not happy with the roller coaster ride of bogiesville. I have to remind myself that it was just yesterday that I was averaging +25 per TST Tournament. Prespective, I'm all about perspective.

To start off part 1 of my usual reporting of this week, I have to go back in time for a piece of my virtual golfing history. Trust me, it'll make sense.
Ahh, the California Classic tournament. A year ago roughly around this time, a fresh faced pro tour player who had never in his virtual golfing shown any semblance of top level skill before in TST, comes up to the first tee assuming that he's just gonna make a cut (when that was the way before the flights), be somewhere in the mid pack if lucky and go into next week. Little did he know, he was -25 that week through 2 rounds and on top 10 pace. He didn't quite end that strong, but he did get his first ever top 25 in TST that week.
This year, this same golfer steps up to the tee, having entered his 6th week in the top flight (expected a maximum of 5) and only playing for extra time up there because if he doesn't play well here, next week at Torrey Pines might be his death wish because he has never played well there. He's probably going to be around the demotion line and playing for safety on the weekend. That's how it's always gone for him, glory days of the past seeming so far away... even though he has snuck 2 top 25s so far this season, totalling his tied best season in that front already in 10 weeks.
Well, -8 and -7 for -15 at the half. I'm 2 ahead of my Kinetic score this week, where I missed the cut in grand fashion. I'm on pace to knock out 1 demo mark here, which if that happens might genuinely be the highlight of my TST career so far considering the top competition I have to go through to get there. What is going on? Why is this tournament of all things seeming to be my good luck charm? How can I be so insanely lost with my playing only moments before, but then come here and knock out a 53 foot putt in round 1? Sure, probably down to luck more than anything, but still.
Two rounds to go later this week. Might have a bit of extra pressure going into those, a good chance to see how well my nerves are in check when I'm not trying to climb up, but stay there instead. Usually hasn't worked out well when that has somehow occurred, but... there's always a first for everything, right?
Cheers, good luck!

Loved reading the comments, thanks y'all!
So .... Did anyone try to get home in 1 on the par 4 #7 across the ravine? If so, how did you do? LOL

LOL I tried every time but didn't do very well in my official rounds. Twice I landed in the Ravine. In practice it seemed easier. I made one eagle and birdie wasn't that hard. Guess I should of played it safe but when I made it work so easy in practice I just figured I could hit the 87% Power on my Driver every time.

Managed to sneak in just under par for the week. Really enjoyed the course. Went for 7 all 4 rounds, couldn't help myself! 2 in the ravine, 1 miles over the back and 1 in a bunker.
