I'm not familiar with the real course, but it seems pretty cool and I enjoyed my round here. I do enjoy your RCRs, this is no exception - it's always nice to see some quirky things that might be avoided or frowned upon in a fictional course, like that tree on 18. Good course and well executed as always.

There were 3 Pines that looked like the tall one and used it. Here's a short video from the courses webpage, I've FF'd to the area.

played sloppy poppy a bunch over my lifetime as it is one of the few affordable golf courses in Monterey. That tree on 18 might've just got blown over last week in the storm...

Oh no, that would be terrible for that course/hole. I had thoughts if I should leave the trees on the course or not but decided "They are really there so leave them". They add so much to that holes strategy (like the one on 10 does too), I'd hate to see the tall one gone. Speaking of gone, Those videos of the MPCC coastline are so sad, I hope they can recover, It seems like I saw where it had happened once before.

A big shout out to mctrees02 for redoing Poppy Hills to a Tour version, he added some additional distance and changed the off course looks using the Heavy Rough Removal Tool that we now have and it looks great and I'm so stealing those techniques. 😃 I invite you all to go play "TQC Poppy HillsGC LiDAR T" and take a look at what can be done, you'll never use a buried tree again! Both versions are Tour Worthies, The non-tour version is HCP'd, the tour version is well on it's way and both versions have been used this week at TGC's True-Sim and Platinum Tours. #BlessedByGod

For a non-designer (but player and lover of all things golf) what shoudl we expect to see specifically, i.e. what does the heavy rough removal tool do exactly ?? ( Aside from removing the heavy rough of course and creating a different texture I assume. )

( Aside from removing the heavy rough of course and creating a different texture I assume. ) For places like poppy(and most of the Monterey bay area) there really isnt much wild grassland, so removing heavy rough and transitioning to pine needles really helps mimic the pine forest aesthetic a lot better. Purely visual, just helps remove that overly clean edge you see between textures
