No, you’re not reading. As part of the Nextmakers programme, working with 2K, we are told we cannot promote real course replicas as they infringe on copyright. Nothing to do with enjoyment. We could use the Official RCR courses in the game like Sawgrass, Torrey Pines and East Lake and others though, they are part of the shipped game. Correct? I would like to see us get on those courses like Sawgrass when it's the week of The Player's Championship just to be connected a bit with the real world. Platinum did use TPC Sawgrass last season for the "Sawgrass Championship", which was played at the same time as the real-life Players Championship. And we have tested some of the 2K Official real courses in ranger rounds for use on TST this season as well. On a personal note...I hope East Lake will never be used on tour, as Hole 1 Pin 1 is one of the worst parts of the entire game...haha |

I think Torrey has been rangered and East lake was in the past and there were problems... On greens above 104 speed. Hb's new green mechanics are making a lot of their own official courses unplayable, especially since they havent touched them up at all for this game. Sawgrass is indeed useable and I have used it in its slot before |

Thanks for this clarification. If I'm understanding correctly, the Nextmakers can't promote an RCR, but TGC Tours can. So how is not being able to promote RCRs the reasoning (or part of the reasoning) for not using more of them on tours other than TST? After all, we have an RCR on the CC Tours next week. I guess I'm just confused why the marketing of RCRs is a heavily used argument/reason for not using more of them on tours. It was used because Yeltzman brought up asking why more streamers (a lot being NextMakers) don’t play RCRs on their streams. If you look it was multiple comments before b101 brought this up and he was specifically responding to Yeltzman’s question. It wasn’t being used as an argument for scheduling RCRs it was informing why they aren’t being played on streams by NextMakers. I didn’t realize they were talking about streaming and not TGC play. I’m not a regular poster around here, so I don’t know who the streamers are or the designers or anyone else. |

In my opinion RCR/LIDAR courses are here to stay for Good!! I am a RCR player!! I really like playing RCR Courses and RCR/LIDAR courses too!! So, golf courses designer just keeps on making them!! I would like to see some of the Old and New PGA Tour golf courses being made like Kapalua and Waialae etc.!! That would be Great to see and play on PGA Tour 2k23!!

I check on several courses of interest from time to time, both of those are on the list
Kapalua = No LiDAR at all
Waialae = Tom Doak reno done in 2018, LiDAR is from 2015

I know in the past plenty of Versions of the Belfry in the game, Not sure if there's been a Lidar version very good learning tool for me this to look for the error's.Made it to play along with the pro's at the Betfred Masters in 22 (in 2k21) Pins and stands from the event (not up to Skysports standard yet).Hopefully i can work out how to get it into the designer soon can only seem to play it at the moment.

No, it's not just you Yeltzman, there does seem to be a shortage these days. I've had 6-7 people reach out wanting to learn in the past year, I start showing them what tools, what programs, what sites, etc ... that they need, where to get the files, begin to show them OSM, how to find the EPSG, etc and POOF, They're gone! It's like some people think doing LiDARs is some magical thing, you put this and that in and it spits out a coloring book and all they have to do is color inside the lines. It's like some people these days don't want to invest the time to read and watch videos to invest in themselves to learn to put out a good quality course. [end of rant] LOL Anyhoo, A good LiDAR course is made on OSM and in Chads, but you have to learn how to use them. |

Yes this, and also with LiDar eating a ton of object meter in 2k23 makes porting a nightmare. A few of mine cant get over and publish without starting over (i.e. garden city, silverado and pinehurst etc.). Both are around 160% on the object indicating I didnt do a good job masking out the unneeded LiDar on the plot. |

Do you think that was deliberate from HB/2k to stop real courses or is it just bad programming in 2k23 it seems with so many errors in 2k23 i think they just messed up the programming somewhere.
