I was messing around in TGC 2019 working on a LiDAR course and couldn’t believe how much better the native terrain was for the countryside theme in 2019. It has so much more colour variation and a much more natural quality. Seems they made everything greener and more uniform with 2k21. So much so I found many of the courses I designed (Blue River Dunes) just didn’t feel right in 2k21. Wish they’d bring back native land with that quality again.

Agreed. Generally, everything is much more homogenised now. I feel the same way about tree colours - whilst we've gained range in the colouring in Autumn, there needs to be much more variety in the greens, as everything's pretty single tone.

even with the new ability to paint in the native terrain I do agree with this. Countryside looked so unbelievably good in tgc19 and from what I can tell the native texture look got completely nerfed back in 2k21 and clearly hasn't changed

Part of me thinks the move to PGA has brought with it the desire for many of the homogenizing qualities in the courses. I can’t stand most PGA courses, they are mundane and lacking texture and character. (See Torrey Pines).
